Well, thanks for all those who have provided advice.

But I learned how to quickly progress to 100m.

Some kind person named Iron longNeck deposited 75m in my account about 30 minutes after I made the OP. What?

I will try to put it to good use to move towards the next 100m.

No tears here. Just looking for advice.

With all due respect, this is just a platitude that isn't even accurate.

It seems to me that there are number of activities in the game where the goal is, in fact, to make ISK and success is measured by ISK. Trading or manufacturing for example,

Activities like pvp and exploration have different objecctives, t, but who's to say that they're more "fun" than trading or manufacturing?

Aren't you a lucky chap! If you want my advice don't spend it on flashy faction ships, sooner or later you WILL loose it. Perhaps put it towards a good but cheap cruiser for ratting/mission running.

Don't worry. I'm a cheap bastard. I'll use the cheapest ship I can get away with!

the goal of making isk is almost always to use it for something else. Fund pvp, buy a new bpo, buy a plex, get some shiny implants, or whatever else. It makes sense be efficient and work to minimize time spent to get that goal. Some people see the goal as the fun and the isk making as grinding to achieve it, others have fun with the grind. If I need to buy a plex every month I'm not going to waste my time mining veldspar when I can run missions or go exploring. Of course there are some people out there that are just making isk to make isk. I don't really have a goal right now so I'm mostly in that category, however once I do decide a goal I'm going to have a hell of a lot of isk to have fun with Twisted

I see this said a lot, both here and in real life, but I don't think it's true for everyone.

I don't see why wanting to excel in PVP, or exploring, or whatever is any more laudable than wanting to amass ISK just because.

If you don't actually spend money on anything remotely interesting it's literally pointless. The purpose of currency is a medium of exchange, just sitting on a huge pile of it without using it for anything is wasteful and foolish. Hell rich people in real life at least throw money into status symbols like luxury goods and property and leave their wealth to their children or a charity when they die.

A rich person in EVE that doesn't spend their isk on anything is just an isk sink.

It wasn't an accusation, just a warning. Not everything we write on NQ&A is directly towards the OP, much of it is written for other Newbies reading the thread.

Trading and Manufacturing make a lot of money so a lot of money can be spent, and because the more money you have, the less effort it takes to make more. Every isk making activity in Eve can be thought in terms of resource%/time = profit. Traders work this equation by maximizing resources so that even a small percentage of ROV can equal a large amount of isk. Mission runners seek a good balance of recources vs. time, while scammers are seeking the largest return for the least resources invested, so they generally spend a lot of time between payouts.

If accumulating money is fun for you, then do it. I'm just saying that whatever method you chose should be one you enjoy, because there are many means to make isk, and every single one of them will support any given playstyle.

I trade because I enjoy trading, not because I have to make lots of isk. This is a game, that's not a platitude. So enjoy yourself.

Train for Incursion ships. Take a look for a good Incursion community and learn what they require of you. If you get to their standards, you'll be making 100m+ an hour.

Whoops, almost forgot to say that if you become part of the incursion community, you'll have a lot of options for marketeering. Incursioners are generally pretty lazy. They won't fly two systems over if they can buy it in the current staging system, even if its twice the going rate.

Good luck!

I'm one month into this game.. and I was at your stage eager to earn as much isk I can.. only to find out that I can't fly even my battle cruiser (Myrmidon) to its potential and ended up doing missions in my cruiser (Vexor) , even at lvl 3 security missions.

Now nearing my first billion, I realised just by doing stuff religiously the isk will come. I tend to not let anything go to waste and by that I mean doing things like mission-ing. . Combat sites. .hoping for escalations... bookmark all wrecks .. salvage and loot (they give really good extras apart from your mission rewards and rats bounties ) .. repeat.... get bored and then change ships to exploration... get the occasional 50 to 100mil loot from high sec data/relic sites.. yes im serious. ...repeat.. take a break (and afk mining while you take a break. 900k to 1mil per haul from a noob venture is great passive income too )..

Soon enough you find your isk piling up and effectively you only need a few cheap ships. Glamorous ships that the veterans fly are something we set our target and look forward to.. but when you are new... you just simply have to train up your skill set. Work towards something you really want to do and work hard. Just remember to have fun.

And oh. I bought a 3 month sub as I am confident things will get better by then, and I should be able to buy plex and be self sufficient.

No one method is the right method, nor the wrong method.

Alcohol.

Anyway, to answer your question, there are many opportunities to make money trading without needing to haul. Most serious traders have at least one character that never leaves Jita (or your favorite minor hub). Just list buy orders at low prices and sell orders at higher prices to turn a profit off people's need to buy things now.

You can also do a lot with courier contracts and services like PushX or Red Frog Freight when regional or interhub trading. Let someone else shoulder the risk, while you focus on how to make profits.

As a noob with a subscription less than 2 months old, I feel qualified to comment on this topic.

I bought and sold a PLEX. Never looked back from the instant billion-plus ISK I now have to work with. So far, running and then looting lvl3 missions quickly has made me... well, not decent money-- okay money. If I'd had to worry about putting everything I had into a Cane just to do that, it would have felt too reckless.

For me the hard parts are:

--All the reading and research outside of EVE necessary just to unf__k yourself.

--Finding a corporation-- not only that, but simply beginning to even try to find one. I hear "Join a corp" and "Join FW or Incursions" but it hardly seems that straightforward.

I made 100m ISK today by listing something you can get for free for 100m ISK on contracts.

Knowledge of EVE is important. My advice is try anything and everything, it is the best way to learn.

This is correct.

I once received 500 million isk for a bet I was unable to lose.

You will learn a lot from going from 25m to 1000m. Don't PLEX, as you'll lose out on learning.

The first option - and the fastest - is theft. It's usually the best way to get your first ten billion ISK - thefts larger than that are very difficult to pull off.

The second option is simple old buy low, sell high.

Would be funny, though, if they added piles of paper bills to the capt. HQ (the more ISK in your wallet, the higher the piles), so you have to wade through them every time you load it up. Purely cosmetic, of course, sort of like a decoration. Also, crates of the crap you have in the items hangar, if the hangar is excessively full. Also purely cosmetic.
