Ships & Modules

I've been working on T2 cruiser skills lately for Caldari, and have been wondering if the recon cruisers are any good in PVE and/or PVP. I currently do PVE combat sites and exploration in lowsec and possibly nullsec later, and was interested about how the combat recons have d-scan immunity, and how that could make the ship more interesting.

So any thoughts of the recon ships, and if they're worth it?

I think you might be trying to fit a square peg into a round hole....

Caldari Cruiser skills and null sec PvE pretty much adds up to a Tengu.

Now for PvP, Falcon is welcome in almost any fleet. Rook is probably for more experienced pilots who know what it matches up good with.

Both are very good ships that generate rivers of tears from your enemies.

Both have excellent utility in a fleet as well. I almost always have a cyno fitted. Many recon pilots bring probes. Since your weapons really are secondary to that rack of ECM in the mids- one of the things you bring to a fleet is several utility slots. And while it's not an enormous cargohold, you don't usually need to bring piles of ammo- it's free to stuff a mobile depot in there, or anchorable bubbles, even extra jump fuel for the Blops.
