Any recommendation for a l4 laser mission ship?


I can't use T2 yet but T1 and faction ships are fine...

Any ship/spec recommemdation?

Apoc/Napoc is also a decent idea. Since no T2 crystals go beams most of the time.

Nightmare is the best T1 laser boat BS hands down and can do level 4s solo (if linked or blinged). Beyond that I say train for the Paladins ASAP.

Here's an Shield and Armor tank fit you can try out. Many people for some odd reasons frown upon Armor Tanked NMs for no justifiable reason, but I'll tell you from my experience that they work extremely well for Lev 4 mission running (especially if you run them using Armor/Skirmish Links).

because a) shield tanking is easy, and b) +2 damage mods with the shield tank.

with 5% damage implants, 4x t2 heat sinks: 1011 dps, 2x t2 heatsinks: 849 dps

not exactly a big no-no, but I wouldn't do it.

You are basically saying that laser BS sux for L4's thus, I agree. Missle/drone BS is the way to go.

The Nightmare is not a tech 1 boat, she is a pirate faction ship. Oh and you forgot a few heat sinks, always heatsink all the thingies.
To hell with damage per hit. Damage per time is the only important thing in EVE.

You don't need to either link or bling a Nightmare to do L4s solo. You barely need T2.

Agreed. I haven't run L4's in years but when I did I used a regular ole Raven with T1 launchers and only as much T2 tank as I had skills for back then. Can't remember ever having to warp out with a BS tank in an L4 mission. While I'm sure a blinged out NM would have been quicker- it would have been so only at extreme cost increase.
Certainly don't need a ship capable of doing The Maze solo just to farm L4's.

A Nightmare isn't really tankier than a Raven - they're about the same in that respect. It just has awesome EM damage projection which is instantly applied. And for some missions, that AB speed bonus is actually pretty nice. I guess it would also count as a tanking bonus too; 370m sig @ 8--900m/s will mitigate a fair percentage of incoming BS damage.

Another less considered aspect is that the speed bonus is also effectively a tracking bonus; the NM can outpace all but the fastest elite frigate rats, and thus maintain transversal. It also means you spend less time plinking away with lower damage crystals.

But mostly it's goddamb cool.

Never really. Neither have bling fits.
If you have some experience you can do lvl 4 missions in any BS in a semi decent T I fit.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

1. good thing smash the supplier doesn't show up in the amarr mission pool! I'd guess it probably isn't the best choice for gal/min missions. although SoE in apanake might do pretty well. Although AB Kiting probably would work

2. if you find yourself in any room of AE in a nightmare you have very probably done something wrong.
