Hi

I have a little-big noob problem. I wish to become a serious mission runner. I have tried Mining,Exploration,Station trading and now Missions and Production.

I found that fighting space rocks is not all that fun and exploration can be very lucrative in null sec or WHS but it takes too much time and planning for what can allot to the game per expidition (Wish I figured that out before I trained all my skills up for exploration). Station trading worked out well bringing me from 400mil to 1.2bil isk but OMG the 0.01 ISK war gets tiring and frankly flying spreadsheets is not fun.

So here I am now doing level 3 missions and production which I find quite fun. I am currently running missions for the Amarr Emperor Family corp to lower station taxes for the Amarr trade hub, which is great , but from what I have read throughout the forum I have concluded that that corp does not pay decent LP and ISK for the effort.

I would like to grind some standing for the corp to lower the station taxes as I can see myself doing station trading in tandem with missions and production but I want to run missions for another corp that has better LP/ISK payout for my effort. Problem is all I can find in the forums are people saying go do SOE missions. Which is bad?. Since it lowers Amarr standings, I think. So all in all what corp would you fine capsuleers recommend I do missions for in Amarr space?

TL;DR Best corp to do Amarr missions in that is not Emperors Family or SOE and gives a good ammout of ISK/LP rewards.

Honestly, this is only an issue if you are trying to min-max your isk/hr, in which case it's SoE or Thukker Tribe. Fly for any other corp, and its all just steady away.

Running for SoE only lowers you're Amarr standings if you run the storyline missions. Stick to regular missions, which is where the bulk of your isk will come from.

Also, if you're looking to raise standings, you can refer to the Standings Repair Plan, or use a service like TSCA run by Imiarr Timshae. Will cost you a bit of isk, but grinding just for standing can be a bit tedious. I know, I do it a lot... Otherwise, blitz 3's rather than running 4's

Just grind your way to level 4 missions, then the LP reward is quite alright and the bounty, loot and salvage provides pretty good sums.

I make around 30-50 million isk per lvl 4 mission by killing everything, looting everything and salvaging everything. (LP store not included) Also each lvl 4 mission takes roughly 20-30 minutes. I am however using a Marauder.

Amarr missions are fine as long as you're doing it for a corp that has decent blueprints in its LP store (i.e. not Imperial Navy)

Also SoE only lowers your faction standings if you do storyline missions for them, or don't decline faction kill missions

I exclusively run lvl 4 missions for the Amarr Navy based out of a 0.5 system. The lower the security rating of the system the more LPs you will receive.

Whatever NPC corp you decide to run missions for, you should stick with that corp for the LPs.

I read somewhere once, that level 3 distribution missions actually build up the most standing the quickest. I agree that if you only want to build up standing, then you should stick to level 3 missions.

Although some level 4 missions can be completed quickly, others cannot. The longest level 4 missions for me take a little more than an hour to clear every room, then return to loot and salvage (e.g. Angel Extravaganza or Enemies Abound Part 5).

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

if you're worried about standings you could always go with a hybrid approach. Run SOE missions but don't run storyline or anti empire missions and try and skip/decline as few as possible. burner missions are great but can be declined with no penalty until you skill into them.

Only storyline and anti empire missions will effect faction standings.

That said it's trivial to keep faction standing high with both an art and SOE.

You can use this Fuzzworks website to check profitability of LP items for the different corporations.

For lowering taxes, it's most important to build faction standings so you want to run storyline missions for Amarr until you get the standings where you want them. The Faction Standings Repair Plan will give you all the info you need on how to do that. I would decline individual missions against opposing factions in case you find yourself wanting to trade out of Rens or Dodixie in the future.

This website will give you a quick comparison of all the NPC corporations.

Thanks for the replies from everyone. I should have been clear that I can only run level 3 missions so far as I do not have all the skills up to fly a good Tech II fit battleship yet. My goal is getting as much isk as possible by doing missions. I have read through your advice and have decided to stay with Emperor Family for now.

My only problem now is that my drones are getting nommed like crazy by the NPC's and it really makes the mission take so much longer because I have to recall them so many times. I'm training sentry drones now so hopefully this would help in that department.

Thank you all so much again.

Fly safe O7.
