Another release, and still no word when CCP will finally fix the in-game-browser crashes. You know it is broken,so why not disable the IGB altogether on the OS X platform and admit you are not working on a solution? At least then there would be no risk of killing the EVE client simply by clicking an URL. Really, really disappointing!

I got the exception error involving -> OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/Applications/Games/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app/Contents/Frameworks/Awesomium.framework/Awesomium' EvilXWhat?Sad It was a flood of emotions.

Did a little digging and found people had success with the Client Repair Tool. Not sure where it is on a Mac. So I downloaded it. http://content.eveonline.com/client_repair/351/EveRepairTool.tgz

Super easy to run. Attention Open choose Eve. Sit back enjoy a quick beverage.

I have not looked into the tool beyond the link other than to find some old pages that say the tool does not work for the mac. Hoping this is the first and last time I need it. All I can say is ... it should be easier to find.

I would like to thank Xain deSleena for saving the day.

Huge thanks for posting THIS link: http://content.eveonline.com/client_repair/351/EveRepairTool.tgz..

it worked flawlessly and allowed eve update to intialize and complete once ran..

SHAME that 3rd party "tools" are required to resolve otherwise foresee-able events...

the beta launcher no matter which version crashes on my system right on startup.
clicking the beta launcher icon leads to a segfault.

however, patching with the old client worked without any issues. the eve client
runs perfectly.

only the IGB launches with a black page and crashes the client on closing window.
the client doesn't crash on minimising the window.

launching the client with the old now post-patch launcher raises the exception.
launching the client with the binary works nicely.

suggestions?

btw, new starmap, system map, dscan map, probe map all work great \o/

I duplicated the folder '1.0' in the .app-contents of the EVE-client container and renamed it to 'Current'

Now the IGB works as well as the old launcher.

The beta-launcher still crashes with a segfault...

BETA LAUNCHER "works" for me....

Lost ALL of my settings and presets... including by not limited to all of my market quick folders, my AWESOME overview settings that took me a long time to set up for my own simplicity, and all of my window arrangements. It even kicked me out of my own private chat I had set up.

This is par for the course: expansion comes out.. Mac users brace for cluster****

CCP has been doing this to me for 3 years.

Don't have the patience to redo EVERYTHING....

gonna log and go play Battlefront.

You should be able to import your old settings. After your name on the login screen of the launcher is a "eve profiles" button (little cog thingy) that should let you import your old settings.

Experienced my first freeze/crash today while running multiple clients (3).
Damn. Thought those days were over...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I can confirm that it fixed my IGB problem using the standard launcher.

Following up on Tar-Palantir's previous post about an exception error upon launch of the old style/traditional Eve Launcher (*not* the Beta launcher). That post can be found here:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=6212435#post6212435

Today (December 10) a new update went out to the Mac clients (the 1st section of the update process will be downloading and installing an Eve Launcher patch) that seems to fix the error Tar-Palantir previously reported. It fixes the error for both clients that were temporarily fixed via the creation of a symbolic link method mentioned in saubier's and Tar-Palantir's posts, as well as fixing clients that were still experiencing the exception error since they lacked a "Current" directory in the proper Framework path. So even if a user did not implement a fix on their own, today's update appears to fix the problem.

After the update, the traditional Eve Launcher reports a version of 2.2.990431. Looking at the directory tree involved, it looks like the new Eve Launcher update creates a directory tree for

~/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app/Contents/Frameworks/Awesomium.framework/Versions/Current
rather than creating a symbolic link pointing to the 1.0 directory in the same location. That doesn't break anything, just mentioning that it used this approach rather than a symbolic link to a different path.

All the above should mean that everyone using the traditional/old/non-Beta Eve Launcher should now be up and running when it comes to getting patches, applying patches, and launching the Eve client program itself. Problems inside the Eve client are likely a different cause (though fixing the Launcher may mean other patches get downloaded and applied to the Eve client and in that fix other problems).

Client locks up at the character selection screen after fresh install. Not sure how this gets past even the most basic QA.

After training Gallente frigate to 5 today, I noticed that the fit window didn't show any change to drone hit points for on my Astero. In theory it should be +20% drone DPS per Gallente frigate level. I have been tracking the effect of skill training on the Astero's drone DPS, and this is the first time a relevant skill completing showed no change in DPS. (I am certain this Astero has the same drones and fit).

I'm not sure if this is just the fit window incorrectly reporting drone DPS, since the drones do now seem to have a little more punch.

New Graphic ui for shieldbooster and so on does not work.
The new first person camera does not work, neither the other orbit one.

Also the new hull-damage thing does not work either, and the shield when you are tanking does not work.

Any fix for this soon?

Another Bump, this is the first time that the Mac client user is missing effects.
