I feel this is because 99% of the games aim at WoW type players.
Currently, EVE is the least rotten apple.

Well at least for now. That is, until the SP skill inject packs arrives.......

As you're returning you must have left, can't be that good.

I can.

Most game companies want to make money and have a large player base.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy as a pig in **** for the dedication of CCP sticking to keeping this a niche game. It's just not a good model if you want to make money as a company.

Mr Epeen Cool

I disagree. Most companies go the themepark route and end up becomming free to play in less than a year. How profitable is the FTP model if a company invests millions into a game. Take SWTOR for instance. Thought with the recent event sin the movie genre I bet they're about to get a huge influx of players....

No, they won't.

Because these old dads are the WoW players of today. I keep telling this to people I know. If you ever have kids, let it grow up with oldschool computer games.
It will beat the **** out of everyone when it grows older.

What a coincidence ! I downloaded a .d64 disk image today and played a bit on my tablet in an emulator. Wish I had my Competition Pro 500 though ... on screen pad is a poor replacement.

I thought it'd been hinted that EVE handles that need more subtly? We have our nightly shutdown, 'things happen', and suddenly wake up again feeling refreshed and as a coincidence, the asteroid fields are full again.

And then miners mine the asteroids, the industrialists refine and build with them... which gives us our equipment... and spaceships... and.... WHAT HAVE I BEEN SITTING IN ALL THIS TIME? EWWWWWW..... ShockedShockedShocked

It's the new command destroyers and upcoming station/capship changes that got me back into eve.

I'm looking forward to more changes that move the game away from blob-centric warfare and more towards actual tactics. The command destroyers in particular are exactly what I want to see more of.
