No reply? Locked topic? Want to fix this CCP? It is on your end.

DL the installer at between 6 and 13kb/sec, make that 0kb/s when I am dling everything else at 57.85mb/s. Same with repair tool update. Still want new players?

nope, it's on yours, the rest of the world has no problem (meaning I don't have an issue)

but i least I tried on multiple connexion : my home, my work (multliple line and ISP there), my phone 3G and 4G, a friend 2 days ago when I went to drink there, and mom's computer through team viewer :
no download issue and the MSI download at full speed (I hit a limit at 4MBytes, that's 32 mega bits per seconds, but that's the max speed the internet from my work

so the only guess is you have an issue

the logical conclusion is, it's in between, so contact you ISP, give them the IP address of eve and ask for support (you don't ask you grocery store to fix the streets to your home, that's the same thing)

The multiple threads popping up as of late in this very section of this very forum, the countless threads in Reddit, and on other forums say that you are wrong. IP is fine. It is definitely on CCPs side or having to do with something between CCP and the middle eastern seaboard in the United States. Likely extended down to Florida and west to Texas given the other complaints. So perhaps somewhere in New York or with CCP itself. Hell even people in London and Ireland are having problems with white screen on the launcher and extremely slow load up times, freezes at character select, and other problems as of late.

Just because you are not having these issues does not mean 100s of other people are not. Your comments mean **** because you have not actually tried to dl the client as of late.

You don't ask the Grocery Store to fix the street in front of your house but you don't expect the milk or meat you buy from them to be curdled or filled with maggots. If the Grocery store has no place to park... not gonna have much luck buying that bad milk anyway.

Mmm... that kill-board...

Why not open your nat adress also open some ports will help allot. Possible to run launcher in admin mode? The launcher is fine mine download around 30mb per sec.

You need to know that the download is a torrent file?!? Search for it. So a open port and a open nat will help.

And a adwcleaner program.... google it run this will fixs many problems.

Nope... nothing to do with ports. Nothing to do with my side... as I have said. I have 0 adware/viruses on this system. 0 porn. 0 surfing. Only trusted sites. It is CCP. Had to dl the installer from a pal of mine in CAL and it took me... 2 minutes... same dl direct from CCP takes days. DAYS.

I have the same issue with slow download speeds. I am also in Germany, Deutsche Telekom ISP.

It seems that all patches are downloaded from cdn1.eveonline.com, which in turn points to various IP addresses belonging to Amazon's CDN network in Dublin. Some ISPs seem to have a bad connection to those IP ranges. Problem could be either at Amazon or at the ISPs.

From home I have extremely low download speeds, unusable, I can't patch anything. Connecting to work (where we have a different ISP), is a little better although still extremely slow (something like 1.5 - 2 Mbps).

Once patched, the game itself works fine since the game connection is not to any CDN network.

This was not a problem until couple of days ago, everything worked fine and could download the patches at full line speed.

Maryland, USA here with the same issue. 100mb/s internet speed.

Came home from work. Fire up launcher. Fails to download launcher update x3. Reboot box. Finally updates launcher. Gets to 76% of patch download (over 90 minutes) and launcher freezes. Now the launcher doesn't try to do anything, just hangs.

There's an issue with a CDN somewhere is my guess.

Edit: Just tried the .msi download. 100 bytes per second. I should have queued a longer skill since it'll be done sometime next week it says. Big smile

Also, my speed test results: Here for local. and here for Iceland.. Dublin gave me 77down/50up so has to be the CDN.

Seems that from work I get different IP addresses for cdn1.eveonline.com, which belong to Amazon's CDN in Frankfurt (instead of the Dublin ones I get at home).

Since I run my own DNS server at home, I switched IP addresses for cdn1.eveonline.com to point to the Frankfurt ones and it's much better now. I assume there is some sort of routing issue between my ISP and Amazon's Dublin CDN.

Use VPN. In my case it worked wonders.
I'm not an IT Pro but someone said something about Amazon servers having an issue. Different routing (via VPN) seems to fix the problem.

That sounds like a good workaround as long as this issue is existent.

Could you please elaborate which VPN you are using?

At work atm, so can't look it up. Will do so when I'm back home.

I "solved" this temporary by using the following IP address for those two hostnames EVE uses:

# Eve stuff
54.230.200.26   cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.69   cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.61   cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.95   cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.97   cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.109  cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.62   cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.200.73   cdn1.eveonline.com

54.230.92.92    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.23    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.13    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.93    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.52    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.17    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.78    binaries.eveonline.com
54.230.92.20    binaries.eveonline.com

It points them to a different part of Amazon's CDN network, which seems to have a good connection to Deutsche Telekom's network.

Naddy, you can do this with your own DNS server... BUT...

...parsing the HOSTS file has no Round-Robin concept included.

So each query against the HOSTS gets only the first entry of a given host name as answer.
54.230.200.26 cdn1.eveonline.com
54.230.92.92 binaries.eveonline.com
All IP address entries below the first entry which points to the given name are not read.

So to manipulate the HOSTS this way is very dangerous and NOT to recommend.
If the first server in list (54.230.200.26 / 54.230.92.92) is offline, you will get NO connection.

A VPN connection give the result, that this connection use a different DNS Server.
And this different DNS give out different IP addresses for the cloudfront servers,
which are routed different thru the Internet.
But before you struggle with VPN, a easier and may be better sulution is to configure your system or router
to query other DNS Servers instead of the current.
Different DNS servers, which are distributed over the world, answer with different IP address
targets for the cloudfront servers. Following is a list of some:

C:\>nslookup binaries.eveonline.com
Server: google-public-dns-a.google.com

So just configure your PC or your router to query one of the above DNS Servers instead of the current one,
clear the DNS Caches or reboot and check if the problem is gone. If not, try another DNS server from above.

Not everybody has access to a VPN. And I personally had no luck with Google's DNS, it gave me the same "bad" IP addresses as Telekom's.

So you are right, if one finds a DNS server which serves "good" IP addresses for Amazon's Cloudfront (i.e. IPs to which Telekom has decent peering) then that is a better solution.

Any any case, until Telekom or Amazon fixes their ****, all those workarounds are valid (some better than others). I saw on Cloudfront forums that several other people from Germany complained so I assume Amazon is aware of the issue, hopefully it'll be solved soon.
