Maybe! That's why I have just sold my Tengu and Astero. Now solo exploration is pointless activity in EVE...

I disagree, but to each his own. What do you prefer doing in Eve instead?

P.S. Thanks for the earlier link.

At present level 4 missions running while waiting for Onyx. Later high-sec combat exploration (my above statement covers low/null sec solo exploration only!) and some low/null-sec PvP activity in Onyx.

Maybe this data will be helpful for future explorers:

Probe sensor strength needed to pinpoint various cosmic signatures of the following bands under realistic conditions

1/5 band (20%) - 5.9 - e.g. DED 1/10
1/10 band (10%) - 11.7 - e.g. DED 6/10 in null-sec
1/15 band (6.67%) - 17.6 - wormholes band only
1/20 band (5%) - 23.5 - e.g. DED 7/10, DED 5/10 in low-sec
1/25 band (4%) - 29.4 - wormholes band only
1/40 band (2.5%) - 47.0 - e.g. DED 8/10, DED 6/10 in low-sec
1/45 band (2.22%) - 53.0 - wormholes band only
1/60 band (1.67%) - 70.5 - Gravimetric sites band only
1/80 band (1.25%) - 94.2 - e.g. DED 10/10

Not sure how you calculated the req. probe strength ... but I know for sure a scan strength of 76 is sufficient to pinpoint all signatures in EvE except the sleeper caches. With manual probe adjustments of course.

I had stated here - https://pilgriminexile.wordpress.com/2014/02/10/how-much-probe-scan-strength-do-i-need-for-exploration/ - and then I calculated probe scan strength for all bands.

I did it to figure out if Emergent Locus Analyzer subsystem is required to find all DED and Unrated plexes flying Tengu. So without it I could find them all except DED 10/10 and Unrated Fleet Staging Points whose I would not touch anyway.

Ahh, I know this site, the mentioned values there are too high ... we discussed this a year ago. To be clear, with 70 something strength standard pinpoint will not be sufficient, you need to move the probes closer together in the final scan round ... just try it out, if you scanned down a couple of hundred sigs, you get a good feeling about it.

Maybe. Anyway flying Tengu I could scan 1/40 band (2.5%) cosmic signatures quite quickly so I did not increase probe scan strength because 64 points was enough. On the other hand flying Astero I had 97 points of scan strength so I could pinpoint probably all signatures. Once I found Limited Sleepers Cache in high sec. Also I scanned down many wormholes during my two trips to null-sec via W-space. First time I ended up in Providence and second time in...Cobalt Edge (really land where the crow flies backwards)! Lol
