You'll have to leave High Sec and venture into Low and Null if you want to make any ISK in exploration. Just use a site like Dotlan to look for systems that are rarely used and fly on out.

To avoid gate camps, scan down wormholes that lead into Null and Low sec. Jump in...d-scan, D-scan, D-SCAN! probe down the sigs and rake in the ISK. Hell, there are Null sec site in the wormholes as well, scan those down too. Just avoid the sleepers in your Astero. They will pop you upon landing on grid.

in exploration the BEST way to make isk, meaning the biggest payouts seems to be expeditions. That is what the t3 cruisers are for. You do a combat site, it escalates, do another, it escalates, and at the end of the chain you get something really nice. Maybe.

Relec and data sites have a more consistent payout and can be done faster than combat sites at a bit less risk, so in general the more the risk the more the payout.

Last time I played eve I could never find any relic or data sites in null.

Let me explain it a bit different this time and not pointing you directly to the ISK fountain.

The ISK with relic sites comes with the T2 salvage drops, hence you first want yo check the prices of those on the market. There are 3 types standing out of the mass with prices above 2m per piece, with 1 being on top with some margin. Each of the 3 types can be found in regions with specific pirate factions. Hence most of us relic explorers only harvest in those nullsec regions which drop the number one item, but maybe visiting number 2 and 3 regions may get you less competition and more sites ... one way to find which regions drop what is to use zkill and lookup destroyed exploration ships having that item.

The best ISK in exploration lies in combat sites (DED sites, or unrated sites with escalations.) I've had 900m drops from those. However, an Astero will only run the easiest (and thus least worthwhile) of those, a T1 cruiser (a Vexor for example) should be able to run most in high sec (which obviously don't have the best payout.) For the real big drops you take a (couple of) T2/T3 cruiser(s) out to low/null.

No, this is plain stupid advice, theres plenty of other lowsec entrances very close to there without the 50 man gate camps, and no, cloaks won't always save you (Unless you have a scouting alt.)

For explo, there isnt much point in going to FW space, just more people there to bother you (Unless you wanna do some PvP, then I HIGHLY suggest fighting there! )

True but it's offset by that whole certain-death factor those systems are know for.

Generally speaking it's sort of Ill advised to go to any of these places unless you're head is screwed on verry tightly
and you have the experience to survive being mercilessly hunted by an experienced group of bloodthirsty savages with nothing better to do than explicitly and specifically ruin your day.

You , cara and I may well be able for that but the normal ncqa clientele would get devoured in that environment the moment they set foot in it.
