so, the mechanics to the game are completely misleading to the graphics. this needs to be addressed. players should be made aware the graphic is not an accurate representation of what is really happening.

if a player is using hitscan weapons, they especially need to be made aware of the mechanics behind the weapons, or they will never be able to deal damage properly, and this severely affects a new players early game exp. these are not cannons firing broadside on a ship, its more like they are titan weapon, firing where you are facing, with an arc range.

keybind layout is bad. 1-8 high slot, qwerty for movement, a-k for mid and z-, for low slot activation please. add other in around this. nobody fires with f1 in any game ever, except eve fleet members. maybe microprose f117-stealth fighter back in 1998, but it came with a paper keyboard shortcut key thing you would put on your keboard, and the game and on realistic mode didnt even have weapons on the stealth craft to fire...

players need to understand that they cannot get used to things. it needs to be more then just made aware. lotsof games say "its hard, you cant keep stuff!" but only ccp says "yes, you got scammed. yes, that IS part of our game. yes, he is camping your character 24/7 with his american friends and some russian people he has bribed with plex. no, we will not help you get your items back that ae stuck in that station that you now dont have access to because you transferred all your stuff there then they kicked you out and offered to sell it back to in bulk at a "discount" to what they are going to receive for it in jita, the trade off is you buy now, but pay less. or, buy it all back one piece at a time in jita, hope nobody else buys it first..."

also, i should not see people logging on and off who i am not close friends with. you should be able to see log on and off relate to your standing with them. a neutral standing, and they go missing for a while and you dont notice. and excellent standing, they go missing for a short length of time, and you become concerned. having a negative rep with someone would cause them to avoid you, and hide details about yourself from them in game. so, you would have to rely on associates of your, as he would avoid unknown friends as well, or encourage mutual friends top provide false information if they commented at all. i can figuire out anyones schedule at any time, cross reference and find the alts on the accounts by monitoring activity level and mutual character log ons... things my eve character should not be able to do because it is irl crossing into the game. logging off is to me akin to going to sleep. sometimes your napping during the day, other times your up all night. your friends should know this about you, and your enemies should be left guessing. if i want to know this about you, i need to bribe somone, or get close myself. knowing location is ok obviously, i can assume your logged off if you sit in a station for hours on end. maybe, your chatting with corpsmates however.

there also needs to be a way to kill docked toons. docking a took at a station for a week is a great way to become predictable, and get yourself assassinated. maybe you get a message about an assassination attempt in time to save your life cuz you logged on, or maybe you were logged on and you got a 2 hr warning, and when you go to leave, turns out they are waiting for you outside. at 2 hours, nothing happens, your logged on. but, randomly 30-60 min after log off, your getting killed if you dont relocate. everything on you is sold, and your electropnics are attempted to be hacked. maybe i hack your bank acct, and take possession of some items via false contract to myself, and i have until you log on and get on another clone and fix it. maybe give me a way to get a docked bounty please.

no where is supposed to be safe in eve....

all in my opinion. i think this is where it goes, not general discussion. oops, not a forum person normally

My posts are here for me to cite when debating in chat, or as a record to devs should they wish or require them. With rare exception, i do not monitor, or reply to posts.

please take this in consideration, reply sparingly, cite your answer. thanks

Firing weapons in EVE with F1-8 keys makes perfect sense because you cannot misfire them by typing, for instance, in a chat. Moreover, a lot of the movement options are on that side of the keyboard and you cannot move your ship with WASD in EVE. Your left hand is also always on the keyboard in range of F1-4, while your right hand is always on the mouse out of range of the keyboard to effectively use it. You also simply activate Mid slots and Low slots with CTRL and ALT, which are also on the left side of the keyboard. Releasing that forced keybinding is not going to contribute to make the game easier or better usable for anyone.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

And even then manages to identify that watch list is a silly mechanic....

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe this is called a "rant" in the common vernacular.
Someone fetch an ISD.

Now that that is taken care of, shall we retire to C&P for coffee and brandy?

You forgot to mention that there's already the ability to set the shortcut keys, using the main option menu's tab conviently labeled "shortcuts," to pretty much any damn thing you want.

reporting as rant

you can keybind your keys to whatever you like - perhaps this needs to be highlighted in the NPE
also - I'd suggest that new players probably SHOULD be made aware that some turrets work in falloff (autos), some turrets work in optimals (lasers) etc.....

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

Locked. While there some content in the post and replies, most of it is lost in the sea of rant and trolling.
