I have returned to Eve-Online. Do you want to know why?

It's because this game is still the best MMO on the market. I think it comes down to the best end game content is no end game content only player generated content. I still can't fathom why no other MMO has tried this model. I guess one could say Archeage did so somewhat. But all others..... not so much....

Don't get all salty on me.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

I'd go as far as saying that it's the only MMO true to the meaning of the word.

I feel this is because 99% of the games aim at WoW type players.
Currently, EVE is the least rotten apple.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I can.

Most game companies want to make money and have a large player base.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy as a pig in **** for the dedication of CCP sticking to keeping this a niche game. It's just not a good model if you want to make money as a company.

You just nailed the topic. Thats indeed correct why all other mmorpg pick wow build. Its the fasted way to earn money. Thats why MOBA games pick the league of legends build to earn the fast money. If the do it correct.

Is it correct well depend on the view. You want fast money then yes. And let me be honest every company want money.

thats why the tried wod and dust. In the aspect of making the company a lot of money, that failed. But ccp has an opportunity, they can add more enrichment to there game, add aspects the improve on new eden and eve. If they focus on things other then getting rich, then eve and new eden will be fine. As long as ccp makes enough money to grow at a steady rate and keep things going, then all will be well. I hope they learned from greed is good and wis fiasco, that if you focus on the players, and making us have a good time, they will receive enough rewards to keep going. But trying to make huge bucks can backfire.

Its why i believe firmly int he 2014 vision. Why i like/liked gun jack. Adding tot he eve experience, in ways that make money but not trying to be cookie cutter or rich is the way to go. Legion, Valk, other pc games, will help ccp, and will int he long run help eve. Because as long as ccp has money, they can let eve go for ever,

Tried it, sucks. No idea what all the hype is about... Maybe in a year or so once there's actual content in it and its release, maybe then it will be a fun game to play, but nothing compared to Eve's universe.

Been around since the beginning.

The lighting in those screenshots is... Yuck.

Some day, the gaming industry will realize that 50-year-old dads will play games that are smart, challenge the IQ, and involve sophisticated interplayer interaction and intrigue. And also that old dads will put as much crazy obsession into an MMO as they would golf, boats, fishing, or any other hobby thing that dads obsess about. Also, they'll realize that old dads will stick with something they like, and be repeat customers. And that they have money.
