Eve Cllent causing kernel panics

Ever since the most recent update my Eve Client has been absolutely plagued by graphical issues that usually end up causing kernel panics and forcing reboot. At random moments when either the client or launcher beta are open the screen will flash black momentarily and then show lots of randomly garbled pixels and general "digital static", sometimes I can make out that my cursor is still active and I can open and close window beneath the "static" and at other times it just hard locks, but every time results in a kernel panic. I cannot stress enough that this has only ever happened when either the Client or the Launcher Beta is opened, I feel I can rule out hardware problem.

I am playing on a:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)
Processor 2 GHz Intel Core i&
Memory 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Startup Disk Macintosh HD
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6490M / Intel HD Graphics 3000

I have had no problem reproducing the result as nearly every game session with Eve ends in this kind of crash.
