Assault Frigate Rebalance? (re:AF role post T3 Des release) Devs?

I've looked through the foras and found the usual tears.. omg how op T3 dessy's are. (I agree) But that's not what this thead is about. My issue is simply put; I first (ok it was awhile ago) cross trained into gallente to use an enyo. Despite the odd role positioning pre-t3 destroyer release, which I 'assume' was a hardened frigate with about cruiser dps.

The question is probably more directed to the devs; (hopefully) clearly stated here:
T3 destroyers are 'better' than assault frigates. in every way except sig radius and a negligible cost difference.
They are faster, higher dps, better tanked, faster lock times.
Ship selection traditionally has been about trade offs.
Intentional or not the small role the assault frigates used to have, has been filled by the new destroyers and made the Assault class frigates obsolete. With the minor exception (and I'm assuming unintentional effect) of kicking T3 destroyers out of small FW sites last patch.

The only reason in practice I would use a Assault Frig over a t3 destroyer is simply skill points (even isk value isn't terribly different)

Has this issue be voiced/addressed?

Are there any future plans about the Assault Frigate class being re-purposed or re-balanced as a whole?

The running joke is AF stands for Already F__ked.

Any info or comments pro/con would be greatly appreciated. I've spent a good deal of time considering this issue and come up with no viable/practical use for this class of ship in the games current state.

You're asking the people who decided to implement T3D to do something logical?

AFs have one problem and one problem only, T3Ds. Why "rebalance" what wasn't broken before when we know what's breaking it now? T3Ds need to come way, way down in terms of just about everything, DPS, tank, and speed. They're just better AFs. That wasn't what CCP promised us for T3s. Rebalance T3Ds and AFs should be fine again.

Tagging this as it's a decent question and would like to know myself.

Instead of posting yet another "AF burff plz hurf blurf' thread, why not simply join the ongoing discussion about it over in PF&I?

And remember kids, It looks before it posts a thread or else it gets the troll instead!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

They can't fix AF till they fixed T3D, for which they now have a "focus group" (I'm not laughing, honest). That group will never come with a solution that's workable because all they'll do is juggle stats and try to protect their own interests.

Suitonia had a good blog about what needs to happen to T3D's: https://suitonia.wordpress.com/2015/12/17/why-are-the-svipul-and-confessor-so-much-more-overpowered-than-the-hecate-and-jackdaw/

That being said, AF's need a bit more speed and scan resolution, and probably a bit lower sig radius, though without major T3D changes they will always be an inferior option.

Whatever happens in this game, past or future, I have always and will always fly an Ishkur. By far the best ship in the game.

So stick that up your T3D exhaust and smoke it!
