Would this laptop be sufficient enough to run EVE well?

I am not really new but was not sure where to post this...

I am thinking of getting a laptop this Christmas and saw this on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010SBAJDS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1450363745&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=laptop&dpPl=1&dpID=51f%2BD2Fv3-L&ref=plSrch

It has 8 gb of ram but the graphics card is meh.

Would in your opinion this be good enough to run EVE? Or any better deals you can think of?

I just mine, trade, and manufacture mostly.

The graphics leave a little to be desired but those specs aren't much different than the Surface Pro 3 I believe, which people run Eve on. Considering that you don't do big fleet battles and spend a good amount of time in a station, my guess is that it would be fine to run Eve.

My second laptop is an Asus Zenbook prime with an intel 4400 chip. It runs eve fine. It actually tries to run on high settings across the board. But I put mine at performance because ultra-books are not designed to dissipate that much heat.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

It will be more than sufficient for these activities.

Ha! Yeah, I have a 3 year old Toshiba Portege that I crank Eve up on from time to time. - I'd not recommend my laptop for PvP or PvE, however.

The intel graphics are not great and at one stage caused known issues with gate animations and stuff but I think that has been fixed.

As for the rest of the setup, i have run EVE on an 8GB i5 laptop though it did get rather hot and I ended up needing to use a cooling pad.

I play on a 2009 model i5 laptop, so yes, that will run EVE.

Running multiple accounts is another story.

I wouldn't try to game on a whole computer that costs less than my GPU. If you want to game get a gaming laptop.

My laptop doesn't even have a graphics card and I get by ok. As someone mentioned above, heat is a problem though. I keep my control panel open to the power screen so i can toggle quickly back and forth between high performance/high power and low power/low performance. Any activity that involves large numbers of ships in space is very frustrating.

Even gaming laptops tend to have heat issues.

It is best to invest in a good quality cooling pad with fans. Makes a surprising difference.

Well, I still have that ancient PC up and running (approx 6 years old with a 4 year GPU) and it still 'runs' EVE.

Keep in mind, that is just 1 single account, at very low settings and don't jump into any busy system with it unless you want to fry it.

So, my guts say, you'll be fine.
