EVE Beta Launcher Error

Whenever I first load the EVE launcher I get the following error:

"There was an error writing a file to disk (see log for details)"
Full error message - http://imgur.com/pXI0s9b

After which no matter which option I select, nothing noticeable happens. I then retry and launch a client and everything works fine. Random bug I've been getting, thought it might be relevant as the launcher is still in beta and not sure if anyone else is getting this/similar errors.

Have you "migrated" to the new launcher from an old type of install where everything was in C:/Program Files (x86)/CCP/EVE? Because in this case I suggest you to move everything into C:/EVE/SharedCache/ since the launcher is trying to figure out why all the stuff isn't there. If you start a SharedCache check it will start downloading everything from scratch. I suggest you to let it do it when you can leave the game for few hrs as long as it's done.

It is not an error message, it is a question, you should answer yes. CCP included a long awaited tool to fix the file security issue, and the need to "run as administrator" should be fixed along the way

when answering yes, you should have the windows warning about using an administrator mode

you could try : run the launcher as administrator to see what it offer you
or
go in the launcher folder, you'll see a "fixsecurity.exe" program, run it as administrator once, then launch the launcher

I got this problem too. Same error. Tried 2 install locations and I get the error even when running administrator. Note that this is a fresh install on a new computer.

The fixpermissions.exe does not output anything and does not work. It could at least print an error or something.

I had to clear a registry key after an uninstall to get the cache folder right. This is a bug. Got installer 992878.

I still cannot launch the game. This is frustrating. You hit play, it starts and then stop without more information.

As far as what you say, fair enough that it's not an error message but as said earlier "no matter which option I select nothing happens". I have selected yes and been through the process you described and i still get the message every now and then upon launching.

I did a fresh install and started getting this, windows 10? Move your shared cache folder to something other than C: mine is now on my external hard drive, move it by right clicking the eve icon in the bottom right of your screen (probably in show hidden icons) and click shard cache and move it from there. I dont seem to get it anymore now.

Hope this helps, now if i could just figure out why my client crashes since frostline id be happy.

Still a problem as of Launcher:1011198 GU:1.857

Win 7

run as administrator does not fix the issue.
fixpermissions.exe does not fix the issue.

Both new launcher and old installed on same secondary drive.

Returning to old launcher, it works.
