I'm nearly done downloading it again (~ 20MB/sec) and will verify shortly.

It is possible the installer on CCP site is borked, but that is harder for me to test until I get home.

Well, the torrent files are identical to what CCP is currently serving, so the torrent is not the problem.

I will not be able to try a re-install for several hours, but will post results when I do.

If I can find mention of a fix, I'll post that too.

FWIW, results of re-downloading everything, all 7.3 GB, direct from CCP, and re-calculating the checksums:

Thanks for checking! I'll keep trying to find a fix (and determine if it is a me issue), will post here if I find anything.

So I just checked this on 2 other machines, it gives the same error. Other machines use Win7, this one uses Win10, all fresh installs. I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the offline installer.

I'm trying on Win10, but download to that machine is a lot slower at well over an hour per CAB.

Trying the regular installer in the meantime, and the first thing it wants to do is download 298.10 MB /sigh

Ya, looks like the offline installer is borked.

I'm getting the exact same error message. Cry

Any news about the "error code 2709"?

The new bootstrapper yesterday decided to bork my installation saying I was missing 7000-ish files (basically all of them) and tried to download them again, so I downloaded the offline version but cannot install it.

Version is 988883 as per CCP's offline installer

No news yet :-(

I'll put the previous version (Parallax 1.0) back up for you, but you will still have to patch it (a bit more).

Thanks bud, much appreciated but no need. I'm trying to cope with the new download method that at least lets you play while it keeps downloading. I'll probably have to let it go overnight but at least I hope it'll do as a "clean install" and no more issue with the shared cache check.

Btw, kinda side question, but I'm seeing that it doesn't create a C:/Program FIles (x86)/CCP/EVE directory anymore but it looks like it all goes into C:/EVE/SharedCache/tq. How do junctions work? Do I have to hardlink the "tq" dir now instead of the CCP/EVE one?

You can change the default path in the launcher settings (gear, top right), I believe.

OMG don't play with junction for the binary folder "TQ" in shared cache!!!!

that is the new storage for the "beta launcher", and all eve server are stored there 'tq', sisi, duality, etc...

How it works is : you run beta launcher, it checks if the files are not present, then COPY them from old folder (still usable for OLD launhcer) to the shared cache

this is automatic and will try allow intelligence between old and beta launcher (I guess until final release)

Yeah I'm letting the bootstrapper manage all the stuff and will add accounts once it's done with the "main install" but it's goddamn slow!! It looks like some kind of indexing issue server side because in like 3 hrs it downloaded about 1Gb of stuff. Or it just displays totally incoherent data, which I can't tell if it's good or bad, but at the moment it shows 28% of 3.31Gb done. Btw, full install should be way bigger than 3.31Gb (more like the double) so it could be just unreliable and messed up informations. But it's going on so I'm letting it go.

there is an issue with some download server, not everyone has it
full install is 13GB, and becomes 16GB after a game run
you may be downloading only the missing files, check the sharedcache folder after the download.

this size can be achieved by checking the "download all files" from the old launcher and the beta one
alternative : run rescache.exe or if beta launcher "verify" the sharedcache launcher option. this will identify the missing files and download them

This thread with a torrent alternative could be a torrent for a 16GB clean sharedcache folder : install betalauncher, grab the torrent and dump the data in the correct folder manually.
but that's not my project and I don't have the means to do that, and it's pretty nice to have this as it is.

but whatever the solution, always check the data for corrupition once in while with the "rescache" or "verify" option

I'm trying to do a fresh install, so no eve install is present. When I run the EVE_Online_Installer_Full_988883.msi it gives me an error code 2709. From what I can decipher, installer thinks there is a problem with a component inside C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\ResFiles\ff\ folder (the very last component).

I redownloaded the installer from CCP (took 40 minutes for 16mb what is wrong with servers), nothing's changed.

Will try redownloading the last payload, but it'll probably take a day from CCP servers :/

Getting the same error on windows 10:

"Product: EVE Online -- The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2709. The arguments are: cmp4E6CF47FF86..............."

Confirmed. Just tried to install from CCP's offline installer, then googled and found this thread.
