One sell order of almost 3,000 implants in Jita....

yeah, I noticed that Shocked

If he's motivated and keeps his order on top 23/7 every time he should be able to sell them in a couple months. Are those LP items? I wonder if he accidentally traded all his lp for one item type. Ouch.

They were gift items.

It's entirely possible he thinks that they'll be given out at Christmas, and is trying to get out.

One order of 3000 is not the way to do this.

One order of 1500 at an unrealistic price, and 5 orders of 300 at the price you want to sell at is the way to do it.

A sell order of 3000 of an item at a competitive price looks like a firesale.

Nothing erodes consumer confidence quite like seeing a firesale happen.

Can't see that happening and even if it did then they would likely just sell them back.

Usually people put up a ridiculous large sell order (such as the 3,000 units) because:

1. They want another speculator to buy from them in bulk

2. Perhaps they figured they can just post the sell order, update it occasionally, and let supply / demand take care of the rest (this would also be easier with an item of finite supply).

But I think more likely than not, CCP will gift these implants again down the road, and Geckos too. How long down the road I'm not sure.
