Good question actually.

This'll be a tough xmas for me.

I won't have my family for the first time, and also get stuck working xmas eve-day as well as nightshift on xmas day itself. The good thing though is I have my little girl with me overnight for xmas eve/morning. It wasn't even my scheduled day to have her and I thought I'd get stuck with a 2 hour visit or something on xmas day, missing all the special moments. But my ex-partner gave me xmas eve and morning. Totally didn't expect that. Shocked

I haven't seen her since last week, miss her soooo much. She comes back to me on Friday, can't wait. Big smile

So I guess this xmas for me will be about being thankful for the little things, even if the big ones are gone.

What're your plans over the holiday period?

Thanks for asking. Hopefully I can stay out of trouble.

Good to hear you get to celebrate it with your daughter. Spending a couple of days together should definitely make it more special.

My work said I'm scheduled to start a travel job up north near San Francisco on Dec 28th. Seems strange since it's basically in the middle of the big holiday week between Christmas and New Years. I told my boss to see if I can start it after the holidays, on Jan 4th. I'll have to get that confirmed.

That way I can enjoy the holiday season here in SoCal / Los Angeles area the way it's suppose to be celebrated, eat, drink, be merry and chase women.

Actually I'm thinking about celebrating New Years Eve someplace special, like a big Hotel party or something. I'll probably start checking the local venues around here within the next day or two.

Apparently sudden death of seemingly healthy cats just happens. Main causes are related to heart conditions; heartworms, myocardopathy and aneurisms are the usual suspects, but there's little literature since post-mortem necropsies of pets are rare. Those conditions usually go unnoticed since don't affect the cat's health until there's a fatal incident.

Prevalence among adult cats is low (kittens usually die from infections), and is just bad luck that we've suffered two such abrupt losses over 25 years and just 8 cats. What?
