They can be run in lots of ships/weapons.

First question is what skills do you have already -- which would be the quickest ship/T2 weapons to train into?

I started off with a Dominix because it's very forgiving and I had good drone skills.
Then I went for a Machariel because I had good gunnery skills.
If you have mostly missile skills the Navy Raven or Rattlesnake can be a good goal.

Much of the answer depends on why and how you want to run missions.
A ship and fit designed to blitz would likely die a fairly quick death if you tried to full clear.
A ship fit designed to full clear would make a lousy blitz ship.
Missiles, guns or drones as your primary weapons system.
Cost to buy / fit the ship.
Of course as mentioned your characters skills is the most important factor in this.

Much debate on the blitz or not thing as well. If you want to make ISK then blitz. If you like to experiment and see how or even if something will work for a mission then blitz is not the thing to do. Both styles can be boring and both can be entertaining and fun but you will have to determine which is best / fun for you.

I would also add that what area or Empire you plan to run missions in makes a difference. For example, Amarr or Sansha ships typically have EM/Thermal damage so you'll maximize your damage in Amarr space where the NPCs are typically weaker to that kind of damage.

CCP took them, then gave them back and called them Navy BC's.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I fly a Navy Apocalypse with Tech 2 equip, pulse turrets and ammo and find the missions very doable.

Honestly, before I could use all of the Tech 2 equip and turrets, I found some of the missions difficult, but others very easy. It's important to have a balance between armor tanking and dps, but I tend to lean on the armor tanking side a little more than probably is necessary. I'd rather take longer than risk losing a ship.

Lastly, I use different drones depending on the mission. If I'm fighting Sanshas, then I use Amarr drones for EM damage, but Minmatar drones with Angels for the Exp damage.

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.
