As far as profitability goes, it depends. :).

If they are camping outside of a jita undock like orphanage, killing people moving items around, it depends on how stupid your targets are, id imagine you could simply look the orphanages killboard as a solid point of reference, take a look at a members kills over a period of 30 days, check what loot dropped and divide the value between those involved... But that takes effort and I'm lazy.

For general PvP profitability, it is profitable. The trick is, don't die in expensive ships... As long as you can keep from dying even the most petty of loot becomes profit.

I make, on average, like 500 mil a month, just depends on the loot fairy.

Yeah, that was basically what I was hoping someone would do for me. P

Thanks!

That just barely pays for the PLEX for the account, so I'd say that's pretty okay.

But how much time does one spend camping to acquire that much?

Vultures make good money from other peoples efforts. I tried it as an experiment and it proved very effective as an alternative to pve grinding for isk, its just not an interesting enough use of my play time long term. I get by with my minimal effort market trading; luckily I don't have expensive PVP ship tastes (outside of the odd 300m isk Daredevil now and then) :P

If I played EVE a lot more actively I might have to consider going back to vulturing / ganking haulers at quiet times. Quiet times being the best for ganking because thats when haulers feel the safest to do their runs, and less competing gankers/vultures about :P

funny enough ive probably made as much money from loot from pvp kills as i have from stealing loot and ninja salvaging @ the major hubs.

I'm just popping in here mid chapter in the book im reading and thus havent had the chance to check your killboard stats but its entirely believable. Having said that, I pretty much exclusively solo in frigates and while I think my k/d ratio is about two kills to each loss, the income isnt that great. Especially since a lot of those kills are versus a group where I dont get time to actually loot after my kill.... you have to kill and GTFO before the backup arrives.

If you can make good income from pure PVP then that is a wonderful thing. It certainly used to be more viable back in the days that tech II mods cost a lot of money and most people didnt know how to fit their ships. These days, finding loot pinatas is much harder.

my entry to and time in eve is probably considered a-typical. i had no interest in pay to play games after spending so much time playing swg and being shat upon by SOE i was pretty much fps only kind of guy

. well friends that were a merc group convinced me to play with them cause they needed pilots. so pretty much my entire time was spent flying around high sec (mostly) and low sec(only some) doing the merc thing. so since i was pvping (regardless if you consider mostly highsec wardecing pvp) from the beginning I would assume if you added up my losses and compared to my gains from module drops id be close to breaking even but ive never taken the time to think about it. i make my isk other ways(as i assume most do) and always considered any carebearing i did as a means to pvp and not worry about profitability from pvp.

You know I do believe talking to yourself via alts to bump your own thread is actually a (forum level) bannable offense if one were inclined to report it to the moderators >,>

Figured I'd give you some fair warning....<.<

Well then, I would like to HUMBLY apologize for the insult....Clearly you aren't a R.E.P.O. alt, just a brain-damaged lunatic....

Of course that is something of an insult to the brain-damaged lunatics of the world....so I suppose now I owe THEM an apology...

Ah well, off to the asylum.

It's not a bannable offence but if reported, the thread will likely be locked if this is found to be true. Of course this only applies to any alts of the OP's otherwise you could sabotage and lock any thread you wanted. Furthermore they don't actually do an IP check so the alt characters would have to be on the same account in order for any action to be taken, assuming the character names were not blatantly linked. Having said that creating a character in an effort to look like an alt of someone can still be used as sabotage even if it results in the characters account being banned for impersonation so even then it is unlikely.

Yes people have gone to these lengths in the past in their forum warrior efforts. No not me Lol

Finally, I find it a bit rich someone blatantly flaunting their cowardice to go accusing others of using alts.

I'm not using my alt to promote my merc corp though P

I'm just using it to annoy people in my spare time - Most of my posts are even on topic and possibly even Shocked helpful to the discussion at handShocked

The two activities are rather different overall I would say. If you disagree, too bad for you P
