Are mining drones bugged?

Sometimes I notice my mining drones have an output equal to a strip miner II. Other times, their output drops dramatically (up to 25% output of a strip miner II). My skills are maxed, and I know that distance can be a factor, but I keep ALL drone-mined asteroids within 5000m of my ship. Small differences in distances (1-2km) shouldn't cause my drone output to fall by 75%. Has anyone else noticed massively fluctuating output from their mining drones?

I think I've read similar issues in the parallax issues thread... but bad forum search is bad, can't provide you a link.

Talking about links... another player mentioned mining drones are now receiving fleet boosts - again - parallax issues thread.
High mining drone yield while you are under fleet boost, low mining yield while your fleetbooster is warping/docking?

I'm mining solo, so fleet boosts shouldn't be a factor. Interesting!

Looks like it's a beneficial bug.

Yeah mining drones have been hella bugged since parallax. You know, along with everything else in this game when that buggy as all hell update was released P

But yeah, at least it's a nice bug for people who mine, but not so huge it'll screw the market for years to come lol

Mining drones harvest a fixed volume per cycle, modified by skills, so if the ore volume isn't an even multiple of that amount, you won't get the full volume.

http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/item.php?type_id=10246

20 m3/cycle * (1 + Mining Drone Operation skill level 5 * 5%) * (1 + Drone Interfacing skill level 5 * 10%) = 37.5 m3

FLOOR(37.5 / Kernite 1.20 m3) = 31 units [not full]
FLOOR(37.5 / Plagioclase 0.35 m3) = 107 units [not full]
FLOOR(37.5 / Pyroxeres 0.3 m3) = 125 units [full]
FLOOR(37.5 / Scordite 0.15 m3) = 250 units [full]
FLOOR(37.5 / Veldspar 0.1 m3) = 375 units [full]

Mining drones are one of the things that I regret training.

All four of my miners are currently getting 256m3 per cycle from their mining drone IIs.

I certainly am not regretting it.

Edit - that's 256m3 PER DRONE.. I've got rorq boosts atm, and my 12,000m3 procurer holds fill up faster than the 2 min jetcan jettison refresh timer between drones and t2 strip with t2 crystals.
