Yes, another astero fit thread... Help pls.

Greetings,

New player here, have done my remap for exploration and been playing for 2 weeks now, went right into exploration. Money is good so far, bought my first astero and have isk left to replace it fitted. (it's parked at the moment) that's why im making this thread. Was hoping you wonderful people could help me fit this ship for data/relic sites low/null/w space. I want to be stealthy, agile, and have some tank in case i get jumped on (im no master of d-scan yet) I'm not interested in hunting explorers yet, so basically it's a survivability/stealth oriented build.

My important scanning skills are up to IV, navigation skills, manouvering up to III, etc. I have no problem whatsoever scanning down signatures in w. Space, i have however failed several of the hardest cans (databanks, mainframes,remains etc) . so a boost there would be nice.

The Astero is very flexible so you could get a lot of suggestions -- I've got 15 setups saved in EFT.

If you are not looking for PvP I would focus on align/warpout time as first priority for low or null. You need to get T2 analyzers as a priority since they will greatly increase your success and speed in hacking the cans.

For an idea, here is a fit that give me 2 sec warpout.

Damage Control II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Small Armor Repairer II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

5MN Microwarpdrive II
Data Analyzer II
Relic Analyzer II
Cargo Scanner II

Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Core Scanner Probe I

Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I


I change the nanofiber for a 200nm Rolled Tungsten Compact Plate if I need more tank for a Limited Cache site or I'm worried about smartbombers. You could also swap out the relic analyzer if you don't plan to bother with those.


Some of the scanning implants can be helpful until you get your skills where you want them.

Cool, thanks. What's the tank on that fit? Also, i can't fit t2 analyzers yet :( but doesn't the astero have a bonus to virus strength? 10 i believe? Right now with my magnate my vitus sttength is at 80 (amarr frigates IV) would i have 90 when i make the switch to astero?

Also, from what I've read warp core stabs are a no no? Even when starting out like me ? (dont have any of the drone skills yet)
How would in theory this fit escape a t2 or stratios or other astero in case they disrupt/scramble you? (like i said I'm no d-scan master)

Do you need Cloaking IV to be able to ise covert ops cloaking device II on the astero?

Yes.

Edit: and you should really get it to fly an Astero. Not having a covops kind of gimps the ship.

i dont know if you have solved your question yet but, hey ill give you my fit it has worked for me 1000x over.
p.s. as a 3 year old player im still working on my explo skills :P and are in no way max yet.

so pretty much the nanos keep your sig down and give you speed+agility which is amazing for getting around, the hyperspacials are amazingg for getting away from people and warping to your next desto. and the ecm drones are for when im feeling ballsy and do relic sites with bad guyz around :P so i drop them and get to work (doesnt mean im safe, just helps incase)
but i dont know how much isk i have made with this fit but, its been alot and its my go to ship for explo and finding wormhole routes.

How do ECM 300’s work to protect u while running the site? Also, is it posible to rig memetic algoritm, scope sharpener and hyperspatial? I only have hacking and archeology to IV and that +10 helps a lot.
