Recycle used energy weapon crystals

Maybe it is a symptom of being a hoarder that I always seem to end up with piles of mismatched energy crystals in my hanger. I usually keep a small container to put used crystals in so they don't clutter up my inventory so much but I never seem to get around to using them. When I pick up crystals I pick up full sets of undamaged crystals. I don't take the time to pick through each individual crystal to see if they will match the others and make a set.

Some of the pile of crystals, come from modified fits, or ships I don't use anymore. Some come from the wrecks of other people's ships.

Could I please be able to combine old crystals together to get new crystals? Any way that makes sense will do. Obviously this isn't an issue with t1 crystals.

you can refine them and then use the mats from that to make new ones

Last I tried you can't refine damanged faction or T2 crystals.

Damaged crystals should be made refinable at a percentage of the outcome equivalent to the percentage of the crystal's remaining HP.

New t2 crystals will reprocess. Used t2 crystals will not reprocess. Faction crystals will reprocess for the same minerals as a standard crystal of the same type.

I would like to be able to fuse old crystals together at a station. Crystals could be combined with some loss involved. Also there could be a small fee. So lets say I have a stack of 12 half damaged crystals. Perhaps they could be fused together to become 5 new crystals (so some loss is involved that is why it may not be 6 crystals) and it may cost perhaps from 10k up to 100k per new crystal. Something like that is what I would have in mind.
