D-Scan Scrolling - .001 Intervals - Problematic for Nullsec Hunting

Hey CCP.

So new changes to the scanners are overall really good. However this silent change where you no longer change the dscan value in 0.1 intervals but 0.001 has mixed but important implications.

FW people and people who mainly deal with plexes and acceleration gates seem to take them positively, even though I don't see a drastic change for them being capable of quickly making a 0.001 range dscan instead of 0.1. They can always enter the value in kilometers too. This is not a gamechanger for them.

But when you use dscan range in the purposes to determine which anomaly/signature a ship is in, it really, REALLY sucks when you cannot scroll the value in 0.1 intervals. Anybody who uses dscan in low/j-space/null in this manner is negatively affected.

This has especially highly negative implications for nullsec hunting, where you only have a very limited amount of time to dscan down and catch the target. It is a huge reduction in the quality of life of the nullsec hunter and will decrease content for nullsec hunting groups overall. We do not have any alternative else than 0.1 scrolling to make small but meaningful changes in dscan range, to distinguish between 100 anomalies in a single system, besides writing the number manually which definitely increases the amount of time we need to locate the target. The difference between the ability to dscan down a carrier in 30 seconds instead of 45 strongly decides whether that carrier survives.

And as a general rule of thumb, why can't you make such drastic changes OPTIONAL? Another example is that Wormhole people are really worried that dscan now automatically scans.The ability to save the dscan result in the previous wormhole for a while on their window was important to them but you took it away just like that without asking.

I second this. Scrolling with 0.001 is unusable.

If fw plexers needs 0.001 then just set this value as 'zero' value on the slider. It's ok. But, please, return 0.1 step for scrolling. I don't think anyone needs scrolling with 0.001 in the middle of dscan range. It doesn't have any sence.

I missed a carrier yesterday because I had to manually write the 0.1 values and it costed me time. Please fix.


Moreover when you switch the entry value to kilometers the scroll changes in 1 kilometer intervals.

That is completely nonsensical lol. Who needs 1km dscan.
