Yule Lads or Operation Frostline: Which Did You Enjoy More?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Bit early to tell but they are totally different things (and a couple of Tweets in the last couple of days suggest maybe we'll see the Yule Lads shortly, but that's not confirmed).

Yule Lads was a series of videos and then Christmas gifts to claim through a dedicated page in account management.

Frostline is an in game event creating content to play.

Comparing the like-to-like aspects:

Yule Lads: videos more enjoyable than the scope video
Frostline: gameplay more enjoyable than clicking on a webpage.

I got a vindicator bpc from a frostline site 2 jumps from jita. and then a lot of teeshirts and quafe zero on a wormhole roam. the event is somewhat confusing so far.

yule lads are entertaining, but I don't remember getting anything too interesting.

overall hard to compare :p

I wasn't around for the Yule Lads but these warpable event sites are super cool. I scored a sweet robot arm today in a C2

Maybe I am old school but for me christmas time is a time of peace and friendship.

Fits hard into an eve in game event.

I don't like the greed to hunt down those sides.

Either one will end up with a bunch of whiners filling the forum with their entitlement issues. CCP can't win. They should just give up trying to please their unpleasable subscribers.

Well, I still haven't tried the Frostline sites. It doesn't helps that my most competitive character is unsubscribbed and the Serpentis shirts are meh (and they don't match the bottoms currenlty available).

Since wasting time is not fun, I'd rather have some Yule Lads trinkets for sure. And if they're juicy enough, I may even resub Ish so she gets the stuff. Specially if Geckos are involved...

I suspect some of these may be included in the Yule Lads gifts (if that happens), specifically the festive dress and jacket; and perhaps the drop suits also (though in those colors the drop suits might be related more to Frostline):

This is Eve. I want NOTHING given to me that I didn't earn through my actions in game. Paying a subscription entities me to no gifts. That's how I choose to play the game, others can be special snowflakes and feel owed something from CCP other than the fun they already get from the game. But hey, YMMV.

The first Yule Lads was right after I joined the game -- I thought it was the best thing ever ... especially when we got the Leopard gift. At least until we got the free Gecko's as a CCP anniversary gift.

Now I'd be completely happy with a bonus remap.

Well, i just ran 2 sites in the first 30 minutes of playing. Missed the kill in first site but asked the shirts politely and they were contracted to me for the contact fee cost. Scored the kill on the second one and got the standard package, nothing fancy. Then moved from a Caracal to a Rattlesnake and didn't find any more sites for the next 70 minutes.

So that's it, tried them, ran a couple, tried to optimize them and just wasted my time. May try again but veredict is "meh".

Also unless i'm mistaken, Yule Lads should start coming on the 12th, which is mostly gone. So no Yule Lads this year... *sigh*

Quick update. Resub mails do not mention any holiday gifts, only Operation Frostline.

Thus O-F is the only holiday gift this year...

Doh. I'll miss the Yule Lads. Sad
