While my account my have only been inactive for a year, I can say short of skill training I haven't gotten past spinning my ship since late 2013. As fun as it might be to read two years worth of Dev blogs, I'll take a pass.

So, if you're feeling charitable, give me some bullet points on what I missed.

Here's some things I already have found out about.

-No more med clones.
-Micro Jump Drives
-T3 ships

This is a bit quicker read then the devblogs.

The site that Loyd linked to was made precisely for players in your situation. I would be interested to hear if it works out well for you or not so that we know what to tell other players who come here and ask the same question.

I was tempted to reply to the OP with, "All the other 'Returning to EVE' threads with people asking what they missed." Roll

... but I'll try to be helpful with a contribution of:

List of newly added skills, sorted by date

... and:

http://updates.eveonline.com/

Also suggest that you forum-search for other threads (I recently posted a message with links to ten or more such threads). If you get an error message, it means the search returned too many results. Refine your search and it will work.

Oooo.

Thanks.

Edit. It seems great, only I keep clicking on the article to get the amplification, and it just opens another version of the same page.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

On some geopolitical things (should that be astropolitical? Galactopolitical?):

- BRAVE rose like a rocket, tried to take sov, and imploded
- The CFC rebranded itself the Imperium and grew from 'first coalition among equals' to almost being the only superpower.
- N3 don't seem to be doing too well

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

As we are rebalancing larger and larger ship classes, the imbalances in EVE’s current tanking systems become a larger and larger hindrance. The solo and small gang PVP metagame (as well as much of the PVE balance as well) has been skewed towards shield tanking for some time now and we need to start taking steps to rectify that imbalance.

In Retribution 1.1 we are working to reduce some specific issues with armor tanking:

The fact that active armor tanking rigs slow a ship down, making it unsuitable for many short range weapons
The fact that the mass penalty on armor plates is much more damaging than the signature radius penalty on shield extenders in most situations
The lack of effective burst tanking options for armor PVPers
In response we are making some changes to the way armor tanking modules and rigs work, and introducing one new skill and three new modules.

CCP finally listened to all my ranting about tanking imbalance after I'd already quit.
