EVE won't launch

Hi,

Since about 3 days ago I have not been able to start up EVE..... about a week and a half ago I got forced to install w10 on my laptop (i told the pc to install later, but it did this immediately and I was not able to stop the install) but none the less EVE has worked with w10 but I did have a bug 2x that shut down my EVE suddenly and unexpected.

I was hoping someone might know if this could have anything to do with W10 or that it might be a different problem.

P.s. I tried reinstall 2x and verifying cache files/integrity as well (I use eve through steam)

Upgrading to windows 10 will have funky effects on files

one option is simply to run the launcher "as administrator" from now on (can be set by default in some properties when right clicking on the icon, and in some advance tab)

one other option is to reinstall the launcher OR simply use the beta launcher which come with a new small program call fixsecurity which will.... fix security on files

reinstalling the game work, or taking ownership of the files, but that's a bit complicated to explain

one simple fix:
go to c:\programdata\ and locate the ccp folder, copy it and paste it somewhere else (need 20GB free space)
delete the original folder and then copy and paste it back

do the same with the folder in program files where the binaries for the game are

do the same %localappdata%\ccp (simply go there) with EVE subfolder


this will effectively reset permissions, you should not have issue after that.
when doing the copies it should ask you for permission, you should say yes otherwise this operation is useless

I am sorry but it seems I cannot get your fix to work (the ''simple'' one) I have tried some other stuff as well but I have now submitted a ticket to EVE because I am becoming quite frustrated with the fact it has not been working for almost a week now.

well short of reinstalling everything, a GM specialized in this problem is your right answer, hope things get fixed for you.
