[Feedback wanted] Concept for NPC shares system replacing LP Store.

I was mentioning this idea in the lounge the other night, and started really seeing how BIG it could be. The basic idea is that NPC LP Stores would be changed into a [Public Relations Office]. When missioning instead of getting LP points in your journal you would get a physical item in your hangar having the same basic function when trading in the LP store today. The BIG difference would be that it would be tradable on the scc market, in a category called Shares/Stock Exchange.

The benefits ofc are obvious. Now players can trade and price LP dynamically, and exchange one type for another. Also a potential for making standing boosts an option in the PR Office, so even more interesting and dynamic features could enter the PVE aspect of the game, and now be indiretly influenced by the player base.

For the most part and for most gameplay this change would be mostly "cosmetic" and minor. The really fun thing would be that it would be a first step towards part 2 of this idea. Adding player corp shares to a slightly similar system.

Player Shares and Corp LP stores.

If player corps got a similar feature, where shares would be detachable items. Functioning like a permanent plugged industry BPO ready for copy, where cost would be the nominal value of a share, a lot of similar things would become possible.

Player shares would be a physical "BPC" that could be placed in contracts and requested in contracts. The result would be that players would have a kind of internal corp currency, that would be usable in many internal and external ways.

The difference between Vote and non voting shares would be in the creation from "BPO" and voting shares would be more like the old list based system, to not mess up the current mechanics too much. (Later a new voting system would ofc be a nice to have, but not a need to have)

So in conclusion something like this would solve a lot of problems and add a lot of small Lore flavored content. When comments ideas and changes are added, I will collect and post to Features and Ideas.. Just want to be sure there are not horrible exploits or obvious "upgrades" to the idea.

(NB: A simple API and trusted Broker system would in effect created a proper players Shares Exchange market outside the client, where actual trades would still be through the ingame and secure system, effectively giving us something we have wanted a LOOONG time)

I'd settle for improved financial instruments to allow effective banking, and (preferably and) or a stock exchange

The LP works fine, if you want the big shiny thing then you had better be prepared to put in the hard work grinding out the missions.

Your comment is strange. If you read the above actually gives you a stock exchange in its second part..

There is no tools that will make banking possible, just like in actual real banking risk assessments, evaluation of credit, trust etc and legal ramifications is not something build into a tool. So these things are all supposed to be player created and driven..

Also I am pretty aware of grind, I have been around this game a while longer than most.. And I would not claim that something like the skill queue is a bad idea, because people can just HTFU and alarm clock like we did back in the old days.. New things are what makes a long sandbox game survive. With the occasional QoL fixes ofc.

Strange to you...

I'd suggest there are things within the game that could make banking possible, for instance tweaking of the contract system to allow for loans

I've played Eve - on and off - for a fair while, and the stock exchange question has been around all that time and never been addressed. Which is a shame, since banking and a stock exchange would really add to the game.

I just don't see the point in buggering about with the LP store - the whole point is you are supposed to forget who you have LP points with, and to get fed up with the grind and buy the implants - hence why the 'prizes' at the end of the rainbow still hold their price in the market

It's impossible for the system to account for loan mechanics such that you can't cheat it somehow.
