Like the new Engine effect, but...

The new engine effects are pretty cool, however I do get the very distinct sense that they are not as powerful as they seemed before the change.

Is there anything that can be done to make them feel more powerful?

I get what you mean. I noticed they triple in size when warping as compared to top speed with a MWD on.

Maybe make them double in size for a MWD or AB? Maybe make them brighter with a little more color saturation?

You could get a friend to stand behind you and pull you back by the shoulders every time you fire up the afterburner

For extra effects you could get another friend to blow a hair dryer in your face at the same time

I'm thinking, for warp travel anyway, maybe like previously with the overbloom, near the engine outlet, and then the flame extending out longer than they currently do, but with the same new flame effect.

I make a low, rumbling sound in the back of my throat which increases in pitch as I'm accelerating. Try doing this whilst making a "buddabuddabudda" noise as you're firing your autocannons, or "pewpew" or "klang" or "whoosh" depending on your weapon type. If you are unable to make these sounds simultaneously, invite some friends to help or create a soundboard.

Warp effects can be accentuated by placing a fan in front of you and, as you drop out of warp, slowly decrease the fan speed.

Have fun! I'm off to chase some fireflies wearing my saucepan helmet.

I can just imagine you and your team of old school sound technicians huddled around your desktop making all the sounds as necessary. I've heard of making your own content but this is getting a little ridiculous.

Michael Winslow could do all these sounds.

At the same time...

But I agree. I love the look of the new engine effect.
It's realistic. The lighting is perfect, same as the looks.

It just lacks a bit psssshhhhhh.........

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

This is EvE, where the ridiculous is common place, and the truly ludicrous ends up posted in GD.

Should we get out and push?

Besides, don't know what the hell you're smoking, anyways. The new engine effects look a hell of a lot more powerful than the old ones do to me. Maybe I'm smoking something...which would be bad, 'cause it would mean I was smoking something and had no idea I was in the first place! Shocked

Yeah, they need a flicker like this. Not a stretching flicker, but a twisting flicker.
