This time it's serious

The error comes once logged in and the character selection is done.
It starts to load station etc then all a sudden crashes hard and needs to close

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x00000000).
Register dump:
CS:0023 SS:002b DS:002b ES:002b FS:0063 GS:006b

ESI:0033aa00 EDI:00000000

Game closes stating a serious error.

Backtrace available upon request .

Ways tried to solve .

Rebooting and restarting
Running the repair tool ( in the exe folder ) also leads to an error
Tried to make a new toon , creation worked , but crashes as soon as we enter game as such.

This makes the game unusable.
Please contact asap with a fix. If you experience the same let me know

The support ticket came back with a rather pathetic :

Hello, I am GM Mechanic.

Thank you for contacting customer support. Unfortunately Linux is not a supported operating system for EVE Online. That being said if I had any suggestions for you I would tell you but unfortunately I've no experience with Linux. I recommend you check the forums for help with your issue.

So they simply abandoned us .

they suggest you try here as this one person there from which you copy/pasted a private conversation (beware ban) is not able to help you. not anyone knows linux, less even wine.

the game just got a new major upgrade yesterday, did you even bother to go on SISI and test the patch on your linux box before today, maybe the issue would have been passed to a tux friendly dev before today

Alsp post your thread to the linux forum (just next the issue forum) also, maybe someone already have a wine config tweak to help

but asking a support for something they have graciously done since lots of years is ... unfair
(I'd say go Macos, you can go almost full open source if you want to keep this linux / shell feeling, and game is supported there, but that's just me yanking your chain)

be patient, maybe someone will find a fix (I hope it's not DX11 bound, or something definetly wine incompatible)

be patient I'm sure someone will find something (oh and don't tell me you have a ATI graphic card too? that would be fun given issues report
