Hello,

I have trouble with my scaner while trying to probe a ship down...
I launch my combat probes and hit "analyze" but on results ALL anoms/sigs and more annoying ALL structures are shown...
I've tried to create some filter for ships only with different hull sizes, but same thing is happening..
So it's kinda anoying to have to filter out all structures and things i dont want to appear before i can lock down a ship :/

What am i doing wrong?

as far as i remember they are not hidden until it's known what they are, are they even shown when you have scanend them enough to see what they are?

You need to set up a filter that filters for just ships.

Once you have done that, you will still get false positives on poorly resolved targets. Lets say there's a POS with a ship in it and you put probes out at 16 AU. If that large a spread isn't able to differentiate between the POS structures & the ship, it may report back a bunch of targets all clustered together. If you narrow your scan area down, you'll resolve out the POS Structues and find just the ship(s) in the POS. Keep in mind, this is the absolute WORST way to find ships @ POS'es, but it's good for practicing combat scanning. To be a good combat scanner takes practice.

In my opinion, combat scanners are the last tool in your box to find stuff. Only deploy them when you need to and have no other way to catch the target.

Thanks for reply, ok i get it. I've allready some filters with different hull sizes (frigs, cruisers,BC,BS) like i said.

will keep practice.

Why, because you are using the filters of dscan and not probe scanner Ofcourse

Really though, this should never be a problem. If you d-scan your target to <15 degrees and within a range you should be able to drop probes in a low enough range to get a warp-in on the first cycle.

And if you don't do this, any competent pilot will be long gone.....or it's bait.
