Cloaking and gate guns

I know that if you are targeted by players or rats that you cant activate cloaks, but lets say that I'm ganking something on a gate and the gate guns are shooting me. Then his friends come to kill me, can I cloak? Or are the gate guns actually targeting me in the code and thus keeping me from cloaking?

last I checked gate guns target. I doubt that would have changed.

They target and if there is more than one target, they cycle damage. So no cloaking.
