I for one am a supporter of Skins in the game. They add a bit to the fun while raising money for CCP.

Though most of them are a rip off for how simple they are, I still manage to find one here and there that I like.

But all of that changed when I saw what the Chinese are getting in terms of skins... Just take a look.

My theory is CCP knows that they would never be able to sell basic polished space tird skins if these others were up for sale. So they sell us the junk first and release the best for last.

I for one would appreciate it if CCP would allow us purchase these skins since they are already on TQ (You can Item link these skins now in game) and spare us the random color splashes of paint. How about something that really looks neat like these. If you would like too see this happen, give meh a thumbs up!

Are they on the Chinese server now?

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I actually like a lot of the current skins over these.
But then again I prefer the 'lore' skins, rather than ones that look like privateers individual markings like those do.

They are actually on the TQ server that we play now. Just not avail for purchase.

I am 99.99999% sure they are on the chinese server right now.

CCP doing terrible illogical stuff and can't capitalise on extra revenue streams, news at 11. But they do think up dumb ideas like SP trading, more news at 11.

Its not even so much the color schemes as it is the detail most of those have. Most of the TQ ones are just basic pallet swaps, while some of those seem to have intricate changes. Can't say its a cost issue, because TQ skins are laughably expensive for cosmetics already.

Judging by the "YC117" in their names and that same logo on all of them they look like event SKINs.

So, I sort of feel less annoyed.

Perhaps. It looks as though only two or three ships have the same ones, yet most SKIN "packs" so far released have often been supported on a dozen or more ships for each SKIN. So maybe they are still testing those on more than a couple ships and want to wait till those SKIN's have a larger pack size.

CCP knows damn well that they cannot try and hide something like that in game, even if linking or discovering it requires you to dig deep to find it. They wouldn't risk putting that where someone could find it without good reason or unless they intend to release them sooner or later anyways.

Btw, good find though. They are gorgeous SKIN's.

They probably put a dev on it who's only ever heard of "fill all", they did make some decent ones like Sarum etc but the recent ones lack any sort of finesse, quality or detail while being hilariously expensive. I really don't get it why they fck this up so royally, if they'd made less ****** skins and didn't make some of them so silly expensive (it's pretty much 10 euro for a ****** frigate skin, wtf) they'd probably sell more.

I'm in the school of thought that believes:

a.) If you can even see a skin on your ship you're zoomed in way too close.

b.) The purpose of EVE has less to do with eye candy than it does information panels.

c.) Companies offering items such as these as a feature (for purchase) are just shining you on.

and I think on the one hand there's all sorts of limited resources preventing forward movement in some key areas of development, while at the same time there's plenty of people and money to go around with this sort of stuff.

It could just be I don't see how it's game-related. If CCP really needs to raise money by having a bake sale, I'd gladly agree to doubling the subscription price. I'd say further that I'm disappointed to see people jump on stuff like this and make it enough of a success for CCP to consider spending more time doing IT, and so less time even thinking about doing some stuff that really needs to be done - all of which are amply listed in this forum so don't expect a list here.

But, then, I guess people who are skin-happy haven't been here very long and aren't really aware to any degree what I'm talking about when I allude to unfinished work in the dev area of the game.

Just sayin' Cool

There just isn't anything that can be said!

I rather buy clothes than skins ...
... although actually I'd rather see more skin than clothes.

Confuzzling.
