launcher won't start the game

for the past week i have issues loading the game launcher does updates and seems to be working until i pres the play button. it changes to "launching" as always but that is all it does after a few seconds it changes back to "play" without starting the game
i have so far uninstalled and re installed the game used repair tool uninstalled firewall, cleared games cache started as admin and normal from both lauucher icon and from game directory exe and even did format the pc and did all the above again
version i have is 2.2.967872

I have a similar problem.

Today my game started and I was playing. Then the game went offline and when I try to launch it again I receive the following message:

Error code: A4859274-E3C1-465B-AAAC-074148DA98F4

I have the same version as the guy above.

Same problem - was playing, got disconnected about 5 mins ago, can't login - launcher returns different error codes like ABBBA500-E3BF-46DA-AB11-196C49AEC82C, exefile.exe can't connect - stays on "..bulk data"

Also EVE Gate does't allow to login, EVEMon can't receive data. Something wrong with API?..
Last moment in game I got error saying "... proxy .. dead"

I have the same problem.When I either use the launcher or the exefile,the exefile.exe runs as a process in process explorer using 13% of the cpu and 46.000K RAM but the game doesn't start.Any solution to this?

you could all try the new beta launcher

but I think what you all have is some failure over the internet to contact and stay connected to eve servers. lots of people are reporting these network issues, apparently random and they are not from ccp but somewhere in between

no need to insult ccp, they can't do anything about it, no more than you, some lines are broken (telia apparently) and when it's not working for you, dozens others are fine and don't get lag/disconnect/errors. bad luck.

oh and when faced with issues like this one, go to the support center and open a ticket. there may be issues completely unrelated (maybe a bug on your account, server side) and only GMs can help you anyway, be it a bug or network issues.

I downloaded the whole game through launcher.My pc now opens the exefile window but it is a black screen and when I hit Esc button,the game menu appears with only placeholder text instead of menu's text. image

ohhh that's ugly, looks the games don"t know where the resource files are, or the file are corrupted?

you say you "download through the launcher", you mean you ticked the check box "download all the files"?

if you did so there is a probability of data corruption, issue apparently well known, and fixable using the tool "rescache.exe"
locate this in the eve folder and run it as admin

it should scan, and fix all files.

you add the http range bug from old launcher coupled to internet transit issue, RESCACHE should tell you some files are not ok

if it doesn't work, that is too bad, but you can either uninstall AND delete remaining data in shared cache, then you can do a clean install from new launcher
(alternative I use sometimes : delete the content of sharedcache folder and keep it empty, then run rescache, it will re download 13GB of missing files, ugly but you are sure the old launcher is not screwing things up)


and as always : Open a TICKET !!!! this is the only way for ccp to know about your issue

Same same same....

Uninstalled and deleted all folders, reinstalled new client, updated, repaired, running as admin on launcher / shortcut / exefile, eve.exe etc etc etc etc etc

Even reinstalled the OS! and again applied all the aforementioned - IT DOES NOT WORK!

it was for LordOdysseus and his ugly screenshot.

what you are experiencing is network issues, yes, there is no issue on your side, you can YouTube all you want.
no there is no issue on ccp side, their connexion is fine
there are problem in between.
and why only "eve online" ... how many server iceland or london based are you using on a day to day basic? answer: none


so ticket to express your unsatisfaction to ccp
and call your isp and ask them not to route you to eve serveur though Telia (good luck with that one, hint ask them to change iBGP routing to AS35834, or 87.237.38.0/23 )

Yes,I clicked "download all the files".

I clicked on rescache.exe and typed "y" when it asked me to search for missing files.There appeared to be 21 missing files.I got 9 errors and at the end it said "12 of 21 files downloaded".Nothing beyond that happened so I closed after waiting 10 minutes to see if there was anything else.

I deleted the game and re-installed it using the beta launcher.The launcher gets stuck at 74.6% and after 5 minutes,it crashes.I got this error window: Error Window #1 , Error Window #2

Do the devs ever check this forum? Oh,and btw I submitted a ticket through support sub-site.

but back to your problem.... since yesterday beta launcher is bugged (beta version is beta) so you are out of luck, and can't use it to download. so rescache will do the work anyway

You're right.

The problem gets bigger and bigger.I uninstalled the beta launcher and downloaded the regular install file from the main page of EVE.I get this error now: Error . The folder is there with files in it but the installer can't differentiate.I tried deleting the folder,cleaning system with a system junk cleaner software,restart the pc and launch the installer again but to no avail.I get the same error message.

this one may be a windows file security issue, try running the setup as "administrator", make sure to use \ and not / in the folder path

and if you really want to start from scratch, delete the registry key "Current User\Software\CCP\EVEONLINE\SharedCache"
do_it_at_your_own_risk(TM) inside

IF you do that the launcher or setup won't know where the data are, it will be like nothing was ever there, and offer you to give set a location


but I would suggest you really stop doing stuff, put back the folder like it was (if you kept it somewhere) and run rescache until it says OK without crashing, freezing, stoping or whatever. it must finish by "successful, press key to exit".

Deleting the key solved the problem.Thank you Kal'Han.

I re-installed the game,let it download the 250 megabytes of files and logged in through the current launcher(not the beta one).I logged out,restarted my pc and logged in to see if it is a fluke or not and it isn't(apparently and so far).

Thank you for all the help.I owe you indescribably amounts of gratitude.
