I do not seem to be able to use this new Launcher as it does not link to my Steam account.

Is there a way?

Thanks

We'll push out an update to Steam next week that has the Steam integration.

Since this afternoon's patch to the beta launcher I experience a lot of freezes - suddenly the launcher that runs in background shows only a blue surface- all that is left to close the launcher and restart.
Kinda worrying. when you consider using the same technique ( QT) for the eve client in the near future...

Please fix this asap

As Drizzd mentioned, with the update to beta launcher, after some period of time (maybe ten minutes) the launcher UI just becomes gray. As in, the entire window just turns gray with no buttons / icons / images / text. The only thing I can do is exit the launcher and restart it. It happens both with the game client running and without. I was using the beta launcher prior to today's patch without this issue.

I'm getting the blue launcher screen and when I relaunch it doesn't always find the running clients.

some other post about blue launcher issue https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=459053&find=unread
also a 4GB ram consumed by the launcher, well, in short : bugs

I also have the blue launcher issue, but randomly, I can only says it happens when I do something else and come back to the launcher after a few minutes. something during refresh?

Linking here to make sure it gets seen. I am starting to think the Beta Launcher may be causing the issue and I'd like to know what is causing it before it causes issues on TQ for me.(Or should I perhaps start a Support Ticket despite it not having happened on TQ just yet?)

The launcher (Version 988259 GUI 1.73) is seriously acting up. Looks like the QTWebEngineprocess.exe is leaking memory like a cracked dam. The memory usage keeps increasing, especially after a client is launched. The usuage increase does not abate even when all clients are closed. You have to close the launcher in order to re-launch a client.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

Is there a folder aside from the users/roaming/CCP folder hiding somewhere on my C drive or another file/folder I am missing?

Do you have the shared cache on the C: drive? That's what takes up the most space. You can move that in the Shared Cache Settings in the launcher.

Hi, sorry about the delayed response. The C:\programfiles\ccp is moved via a symbolic link to my D drive. As well, in the current launcher, the file path has been changed. What happens when I try to run EveLauncher-969236.exe is nothing. If I try to run it as admin I get:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item."

I did have an issue a while back. Does it make use of existing local installers? My biggest concern is that if the launcher goes active, of losing access to Eve due to some stupid issue with windows. At some point I need to just wipe the SSD and fresh install everything, but that is a pretty heavy work load at this time....

I'm also getting the crash after 15 minutes and blue launcher window after that. I'm running Win7. About 15 minutes after starting the launcher, regardless of if I have logged into game or not, I get "QtWebEngineProcess.exe has stopped working" and then the launcher window goes blue and needs to be restarted.

I have a few questions for you

1) what did you use to create those "symbolic links"?

- I'd suggest you create not symlinks but "junction" as you seem to be running windows

to create them run cmd to get a "dos-window" , then

mklink /J linkname real_path

I used to link my eve folder entirely to a new harddisk because of the same matters as you have, a small SSD as system drive

2) did you use the launcher or the eve installer to move your shared resource cache to another harddisk -
as the CCP's advice says , the shared resource cache is now the biggest part of eve - even more so in the beta launcher

the new beta launcher even downloads new eve clients and stores them in the same folder as the shared resource cache - which is also the reason for starting as if eve was newly installed - it creates new settings folders that are empty at first ...

Roster so far :

eve client 250 to 300 mbyte per client installation
shared resource files about 16 gb

Thus I get about 17 GB of Shared Cache - the beta launcher stored another 4 eve clients - one for each Server I use (TQ, SISI, Duality, Solace)

Previously I had zero issues with the beta launcher.
I've been using it for over a month normally I just leave it open though it kinda uses way more RAM than it should

Apart from
Copying over client settings has never worked, ever, not between accounts, and not between servers.
So I just do it manually.
Anyway.

Today (and yesterday, I think when it started)

The launcher has been randomly dying.
No detailed messages, only launcher is dead RIP launcher.

Now today after down time, I login, I undock, I'm lagging my FPS is rubbish
Onoes I think whats going on
So I open up resource monitor
QTWEBPROCESS which I believe is the system CCP has rigged up for the new launcher
Is running at 50% of my CPU...
So I (having already realized CCP is using another companies program (QT in this case)
I quit the launcher, the launcher quits, no issues
But QTWEBPROCESS is still using half my CPU, and shows no indication of stopping

So I kill the process

It would be nice if
A) the new launcher actually has a purpose (copying settings)
and
B) you didn't break it for no reason

Details (on restarting launcher):
CPU = 0%
evelauncher.exe then boom 20% CPU
qtwebprocess.exe then BOOM 44% CPU
RAM =
QtWebEngineProcess.exe
commit 168MB no wait its 178MB no wait its 191MB no wait its 199 no wait its 320MB
working 189 not wait its 210MB no wait its 212 no wait its 330MB
evelauncher.exe
comit 168MB now 178
working 202MB now 214MB

Nothing is coming in on the network
So
You have a huge memory leak I believe

EDIT:
Also this time when I closed the launcher the qtwebprocess didn't have to be killed it died with honor (this time)

"Do you want to migrate your old settings?" dialogue pops up on a random screen out of three. And then crashes, of course. Or crashes after you are supposed to drag profiles to migrate from left to right. Or freezes once you select the first profile to migrate.

Seriously. This is supposed to be a launcher, a small program that is dedicated to update components before launching the real application. Speaking for the guild this really is rather basic stuff - and definitely not supposed to crash graphics driver components. Even less so in the second or third beta iteration.
