A lot of us kept doing Belligerent stuff but sadly the channel and the website died and the community went their separate ways. BU refugees filled out the ranks of the New Order and other organizations. BU content became less easy-mode with all the nerfs. Key personalities unsubbed (or were permabannedCool) and never came back.

The days when BU were really active were some of the best times I have had in this or any other video game. I look forward to seeing how this revival evolves, and to getting a new generation of Internet spaceship assholes up to speed.

Come to the dark side, ISD Dorrim Barstorlode. There are many interesting things that a Belligerent Undesirable could do with ISD privileges.... Twisted

Floppie! :D

Sooo ... will this again more like the original ...
... or ongoing with the boring generics like it has been for so long ?

My goal is the former. Unfortunately, I can only do so much to drive it. I'm trying to get some content for the blog and get people back into the channel. I've been seeing a lot more collaboration in the past week there than I did in the two months previous.

When we were first building this community three years ago, I wrote this:

Quote:
Belligerent Undesirables create the stories of highsec. We are the bad guys those white knights desperately need to take them beyond the “what now” endgame of shiny PVE ships and wallet balances.

Without us, there is no player-written narrative to highsec. In the two months I quietly played the game before launching all this, I came to realize that highsec is somehow less without the concerted efforts of creative people like those who used to populate the BU channel. These days CODE. seems to be the sole source of this sort of content. We need variety, and the best way to produce that is put all the likeminded individuals in a channel together and let them come up with ideas.

Ive spent so much time trying to get new blood but with the nrefs there isnt as much entry level content for the community.
Hiests and long term stuff has gotten worse too. There are so many war dec entities right now you cant find a good highsec target without never ending wars.

I hope we can have a good revival.

My ts is always open for BU content.

Small communities are made of individuals and with the goons around I don't see this working...

Times aren't comparable to back then.
The generic fucks mainstream and ruin everything.

I guess this sums up why the channel is dead.

Eve is not the same place as when this belligerent whatever had it's "success". Your forum was viewed by few, you're not memorable, you're just there. A lot of noobs may look up to you from that time, however, that's all you will get. Eve is less populated now and you won't find many followers, except perhaps the c and p regulars.

I remember psychotic monkey's thread on yours truly. He didn't like me because I saw him for what he was doing...blowing smoke in everyone's face. My most memorable moment with psycho monkey is when I popped his pod during his failed csm run. Talk about adding insult to injury eh?

Content in this game is created by everyone. This BU thing was just another flavour-of-the-month. Good luck exhuming this corpse, you're gonna need it.P

Yeah, I agree with you about the forums, does seem to be mainly the same few people.

Can't remember the last time I looked at them. Even the topics tend to be a bit on the dull side.

As with all other things, we adapt or we die.

We've already had some fun times and seen some great collaborative moments between community members. That's all it was ever supposed to be.

HoleySheet1 wrote:

We'll figure out where we fit in this new meta.

HoleySheet1 wrote:

If you think killing Monk is some kind of insult to him, you completely misunderstand what we're about.

Upon an exhaustive check of Monks losses, it apparently wasn't a pod. It was a rookie ship. You know, your specialty.

I'd link the kill, but...rules. Also, I'd like to note that I've killed at least twice as many Psychotic Monk rookie ships as you have.

HoleySheet1 wrote:

Sure. But compare the content of mining all day or running the same dozen missions for months on end or chasing incursions from one side of highsec to the other, listening to FCs on autopilot calling shots, and then realize that not all content is equal. No one recalls that one mining op where they mined the whole belt or that time in the incursion where they popped the sanshas 10 seconds faster than they ever have before. When the Eve players who choose to live exclusively in highsec talk about things that happen in the game, it's trade hub scams and wardecs and corp thefts and awox.

BU was always about giving people who produce that kind of content a place to collaborate. It's already a success. At this point the only goal I have is to get more people doing the same thing.

Oh...it was a pod. Look closer. I don't forget such things. I would imagine it's on eve kill, but that site is long dead...kinda like belligerent undesirables.

I would like to repeat that everyone makes their own content in this game. Those who need it made for them are sheep and they don't last long.
