I have suffered with these for a while, although still playable they are annoying and would appreciate some insight on why and if it can be resolved.

I had a quick browse and found nothing relating to these so here goes.

Active Window Issue:

This is a odd one, it started when I re-installed my PC. For some reason when I click away from a Eve window (I sometimes have 4 open) and then click back to it in any fashion, alt+tab, taskbar click or click the actual window. I am unable to actually do anything until I click away and back again, it is like it did not register it as being an active window, I cant even minamise/maximise etc. None of the window buttons work nor does the game in the window.
This does not happen to any other game or software, I run two separate eve client installs. One from steam on a mechanical drive and one on SSD both using shared cache on SSD. So re-installing the client wont make a difference as it happens on either client regardless.

Login Quirk:

This is just an annoyance, regardless of what I do the launcher never remembers the multiple usernames. No as above I run two separate clients, the steam client only even has a single account logging into it. The SSD client runs 3 instances. Both only remember a single username each, the SSD one used to remember all usernames that had been used but now doesn't. The other quirk is regardless of whether it is the launcher or the website EVERY single time I login I have to give a character name as apparently I have not logged in in some time. Now this is not a IP/PC issue as it is a static IP, same connection, same machine, etc etc. So I have no idea why it insists on me doing it EVERY single time.

If anyone has any insight into either of these I would be grateful.

Both issues are... strange to say the least

I have not experienced them, nor do I use steam, so here what you can do

create username for steam account so you can use them without steam (I like steam for my skyrim, not for MMO it's plain ****)

use the beta launcher to connect and initialize the 4 clients


pro :
you won't use steam anymore, and the world be better for it
you'll get to use the new beta launcher and all its quirk, but it's pretty cool (multi launch and password saving need I say more?)

Good idea.
I am in the process of doing a clean install on my machine now anyway as I picked up nice big but cheap SSD in the sales.
I shall have a look at this beta launcher when I get everything installed again sometime tomorrow.

sometime steam user don't have an account, this create one for them to be normal again, and allow you to use launcher.

Right I know this is a old thread now but...

New install of Windows 10 done
Beta Launcher Done
Quick fiddle to work out and sort out profiles (1 Maxed Settings, 3x Medium settings and no sound) Done
Small Mining operation done last weekend without any issues, all clients loaded fine, all clients reacted well and active window issues.

Seems to have sorted itself out, but odd I had to re-install the operating system to fix, but its done and runs well!
