Hi all,

Recently me and my friends noticed that theres something wrong with overheating MWDs on frigates,

The module damage indicator basicly jumps instantly from 60% to 100%.

We tested i in non combat situation aswell and it turns out that theres propably some lag or big delay in refreshing the dmg status,
anyone experiencing similar problem?

I can deffineatly say that that wasnt the issue some time. Im aware taht dmg inceases with heat overtime but this isnt the case we can say for sure that theres something odd goin on atm.

MWDs are basically designed to do a lot of heat damage so that may be by design? Speed got a huge nerf at some point and the heat bonus on MWDs is quite large, I think that the large MWD heat damage is designed to make it so people can only use it as an oh **** button and discourage any other use.

according to EFT with thermo 5 a 5mn mwd can do 14.25 heat damage (15.2 with therm 4 in game) and with most mods having 40 hp. at exactly 60% damage you have 16 hp left. that is looking like very close to what is possible with an unlucky roll or lower level of thermodynamics.

sounds a little harsh. I did notice someone say they burnt out an mwd in 3 cycles with a tactical destroyer which have a heat reduction bonus. so looks like it would take 4 damaging cycles to burn out so maybe there is something there?

something I didn't notice before: larger MWDs look to do less heat damage.

Was this tested from no heat to full, or from 60% damage to 100%? The more heat you have the more you will take. MWDs will kill themselves almost instantly like this.
