the command dessi's really interest me tbh, with their group MJD ability it will remove the need for a prop mod on the frigs to get into range since warp in = 70km from spawn, MJD = 100km blink, you're now 30km from the targets, and well inside ideal combat range.


... at least in theory... sisi hasn't let me take a command dessi into a site yet though, it prompts that it's not a valid hull for the sites (*obligatory grr ccp*)

After a quick look at their stats (sig rads in the 60's and base speeds in the mid 300's), it doesn't seem they're entirely suitable to direct substitution into the Jaguar fleet.

it's true, that their stats make it look like they'll explode, but if utilized more as a delivery mechanism that then evac's as soon as the jump is complete....

This is all theoretical until I can test that somewhere

HG Halos + a bonused skirmish link can get it down to ~33 or so. Not great, but better than nothing. That skirmish link's awfully important.

what kinds of ewar do affect drifters?

-TDs? Can be used for kiting?
-Dumps? Can be used for kiting?
-ECM?
-Neuts? If do, what the actual effect is?
-How much you are able to Nos them?

Trackin disruptors work. Drifter lock range is too long to damp effectively. Neuts work but we put 4 full neut geddons on one and didn't cap it out before we died. Let alone the rest. Not sure about ecm.

I have almost perfect ECM skills and I couldn't jam one out in a Rook. And that is with Centurion implants.

Wondering if a bunch of tracking disrupters in the Jaguar fleet would make the links obsolete ... or is the DD device the problem?

I know, it affects optimal range; but that is what my EWAR clone has plus a Zainou 'Gypsy' Electronic Warfare EW-906 implant.

The major theoretical problem with EWAR is that after overshield is down, the fleet has to re-lock the target, so drifter can use it's DD to full potential, resulting in a wreck. We didn't try it tho.

Passive sig tanking has proven to be effective, but I doubt that was intended by designer of that encounters, as there is no player inpult is needed to run such a config (orbit, lock->fire), so after few sites process has become really boring, even worse, than lvl4s :/

Youre overthinking this. 25 man fleet with crucifiers, vigils, and bombers run the largest sites with minimal losses and those are strictly from DDs.

The outstanding question from Consortium was whether the Drifters' DD could be TDed. After getting uncertain results I wasn't sure if we were getting a placebo affect from DD catching, or if it was a viable tactic.

The DD is a turret-like script., not a turret, so TDs don't effect it.

do drifters switch targets to ships, that do not have drifter poo in thier cargo?

Hi, wanted to bump the thread and to find out is anything still going on in area of drifter incursions. Noticed that there is some movements in Araz constellation, where drifter incursion is located these days. Yesterday went there to check what's going on and found one fleet which was active there. Tried to get in contact with them, but they didn't seem to be interested in any conversation.

Nevertheless it would be interesting to get the update about these incursions.

- How many arty trashers do you need to alpha a drifter battleship ? What about using them in combination with multiple MJD destroyers, shoot and have your ships 600km away in 1 seccond.
- We have huge grids, what about shooting in full alignment. Warp + shoot at the same time.
- How they react to shoot and cloak?
- What about bomb runs, unless you want to do something in higsec.
- Can you pull them in one place and smartbomb all of them at the same time?
- If you drop 20 shuttles in the field, what ship will get doomsday or aggression.
- Can you shoot and hide your ship to a neutral bowhead, orca or maybe board it from other character.
