Really weird, i can't re-open the Mac client after closing it.

I get a buffer overrun and c handle exceptions every time.

"Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000024 at address 0x7df2751f."

I have tried the new launcher, clone maker and the good old instakker but nothing helps.

If I remove all settings and start over I can launch, but if i have saved settings it pops.

Ideas?

This is on a Mac Book Pro 2015, with dual screens.

Hum - haven't a real clue
(Check my edits first)

1: Use the Menu Go (hold option/alt) > Library > Applivation Support > EVE Online > (there is like three more folders to dig into - not at my computer so can't tell you all of them - but you will end up seeing the folder that has you character settings
2: Copy those to some place safe
3: Delete and reinstall EVE
4: Launch clients, log into a character, then quit (if you launch off the new launcher and it works even better)
5: Go back into your Library > application support etc and replace you settings from where you stored them
6: Test and see if that works.

Edit - if that doesn't help or sort of does - I should be able to help you through via TS. Just mail me or message me ingame
Edit 2 - try this first, new launcher > settings > shared cache > verify.

"The Lord loosed upon them his fierce anger All of his fury and rage. He dispatched against them a band of Avenging Angels" - The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 10:1

Will go and play.

I was rather hoping that this was a known issue :)

Just to re-iterate to ensure that I have represented this correctly whilst I go and try those things:

I installed the new launcher (this is the same on the old and new one).
Open up the game - press esc and set to window mode
Select a char and play.
Log off
Open up new char - screen goes black, then both screens go black. Eventually the screens come back with the EVE game screen semi transparent and hidden partially to the right of the main screen but not spanning the second screen.
After about 1 min - Eve crashes (all clients) with buffer overrun and other errors.

On restart I get same issue.
If I delete game settings I can then play fine, but have to go through the setup again of window size etc.

I have tracked the issue down to it being only if I am in woindowed mode.

In full screen I have no issues, annoyingly though that is a nightmare to multi box with.

Anyone else have issues with window mode?

This was tested on 3 Macs, two on Mavericks and one on Yosemite.

ALL of them did the same thing in windowed mode - however all of them are also running dual monitors which leads me to think that the issue may be the dual monitors?

Anyone else running duals?

As an update - on dual monitors its not an issue running in full screen. Its ONLY with dual monitors in windowed mode that the client crashes on startup.

Is this being observed on OS X El Capitan?

No I have not updated yet (mainly as I was fearful of more issues than this!).

I have several other reasons not to update - mainly as a graphic designer I cat afford for my layout software to go belly up.

Small update to this:

It manifests itself ONLY on my macbook pro now. And the difference is that I am using HDMI via the lightning (?) ports on one monitor and std vga on the other.

I'm sending the lightning (?) output via a hub and then onwards. I wonder if thats the issue?

I should add that recent launcher changes have fixed the issue on a more conventional setup.

aha!

Without the hub in the loop it works just fine. It eould appear that the hub in some way was hanging on to the previous resolution and couldnt cope (thats how I have explained it to myself anyway).

Direct via Lightning to HDMI is fine and drags across the monitors as it should.
