I posted this over in the MD section but I wanted to get it in here for some of the old school piracy types as well as the mercs, because they may have first hand experience at this kind of business.

Hello,

[TL:DR] Killing boosters is fun for me and I would like further ideas on how to rapidly expand the booster graveyard filling business.

In an attempt to create an out of the box business model in New Eden utilizing my existing skill sets (pew pew and organization) and avoiding things I don't like doing (station trading, incursions, industry, etc.) while trying to think of things that many people feel strongly about I finally landed on killing Boosters.

I've done a trial run over the last several days, resulting in 8 dead boosters and a bit over a half a bil in loot.

Proof of concept:

*snip* - Please do not post external links to killmails. -- ISD Supogo

Initial startup costs are well in excess of the loot that has dropped so far, but I've only been at it for a couple of days, and have learned many lessons along the way.

Thus I come to you here in MD to see if there is anyone interested in helping to further develop the business model and kill more off-grid links boosters, or support their demise. Do you have any ideas you might be willing to share or sell to me to expand this much loved product, or am I crazy and there aren't enough people interested in seeing the booster graveyard filled to make this worthwhile?

Looking forward to your replies!

I only looked at the first 2. They are in lowsex, so how are you losing isk? I love solving gankmath problems. I need a bit more info though.

1. Where are you killing them? (stations/safes/gates/just outside of POS shields)
2. What's killing your ships?

It isn't that I'm losing isk, it was just initial investment costs (mostly probing implants) haven't been recouped yet.

Kill locations so far: POS, Safe(s), Station. Hopefully will be adding gates soon.

Total losses so far are 1 vexor, 2 nado's (1 to friendly pos guns, 1 to jumping into a group of baddies with improper scouting to go rep guns), 1 SB (fail multiobox sitting on gate decloaked). None of those will be repeated as they are easily avoidable.

The only way to increase profits when expenses are more or less static is to simply kill moar! Target acquisition seems to be the bottle neck in such a venture, so more scouts covering a larger area should increase profits. Organizing a list of known boosters wouldn't hurt either.

People complain about links alllllll the time. When they do, ask them for names, locations, ships, etc. Stash even more Tornadoes in those areas of space, with jumpclones to boot. Send alts out checking if your (now huge) database of link toons is showing any activity. Jump to nearest clone, gank them, and scoop loot.

If you find that particular corps are losing more and more ships to you, propose an immunity pass. I don't like to use the word 'permit'.

If you don't have the manpower at certain times, go ship scanning for pricey fits to go hunt later.

I am one of those people. Links suck. Good on you for doing something about that cancer.

Unfortunately most link ships have at least enough tank to not be alpha'd by a single nado, but if you can multi box that opens up new options.

Thanatos you live in lowsec. You know generally who flies what, where. Just start staging nados in dockable systems that are frequented by "elite solo pvp'ers" and nano gangs who like to park their little friend on stations or gates.

Tama and the surrounding systems including our home system of Suj are a hotbed of solo and small gang pvp and thus link activity. RDRAW also has tons of nado capable pilots who would be happy to help keep the local spacelanes clear.

If you get good enough at it you could theoretically charge people a fee to leave their little pet alone. It's hard to focus on doing elite pvp in your linked faction frigate when someone's running around with a virtue prober and a couple of Nados.

And seriously, RDRAW has Nados on contract and the majority of our pilots can fly them. Just stop by Suj if you need guns - everyone likes to blap links.

Yeah, coming up with 3 nado pilots isn't that hard (see killboard) and takes care of most T3C link ships. Command ships take 6-12 it seems depending on fit/skills of pilot.

Seems like bad timing to start this business up, given the recent info about OGBs :P

Will definitely need to add a wider variety of ships to kill them on grid.
