After reading this, i guess i've gotten a few glitches here and then. Didnt eve noticed though(mostly when changing ships and some mods go off).

I think all are minor things and im sure will get polished in time.

Ah! for a while now i cannot send support tickets.. did the interface changed? or is a bug on my client?

In any of those places you would need a time machine to hit December 10th or October 12th.

One country uses middle-endian date format. One. That country still uses imperial units, because they are holdouts and won't let the rest of the world tell them what to do.

Of course that one country expects everyone else to respect their bizarre habits because "we've been to the Moon and you haven't, so nyah."

Haven't noticed any bugs other then the Capacitor doesn't show sometimes, and Jump Gates taking longer to get me to the other side, and that.. That is all.. Perfectly reasonable issues to expect when they are basically rebuilding the way the game works, I was willing to deal with a lot more.

Thanks CCP for the work, can't wait for the release! Already planning a Spectre Fleet Roam with some of the new stuff your bringing out! Can't wait guys! Keep up the awesome work!

please restore eve to its once great game status.... like it is now it is surly going to die.

Returning it to how it was would be the death knell. BIAB is a complete rewrite of some of the most fundamental underlying code, done in order to allow things to be bigger and better than they could have ever been under the previous system.

To give you a bit of an analogy, think of a flight that has already taken off. Prior to BIAB, we were under the clouds in a rain storm. There was terrible turbulence, visibility was low, and if you weren't sitting buckled in your chair, you were probably sitting on the ground holding on to the nearest seat.

Right now, we're in the clouds. Things are turbulent, sometimes worse than below the clouds, sometimes better, but by large, it's a different type of turbulence that we aren't used to, so it seems worse than before. We are, however, still ascending through the clouds.

Once we're above the clouds, we'll be above rainstorm and the wind it brings. Things will be bright and sunny. The air is calm. Visibility is incredible.

Don't demand the plane go back below the clouds just because you spilled your drink. We're all in this together, and in the long-run, suffering these growing pains will be very, very worth the way things will be once we're above the clouds (and through these growing pains).

I'd like you to read me a bedtime story.

I think people tend to judge changes based on potential issues without having an insight to what has actually been implemented and what it will allow for the future. Have a little faith in that you can be sure CCP, who have kept this game going coming up 13 years now, know precisely what they are doing.

Yeah, there are still few bugs, but overall BIAB has been great.
Undock and jumping TiDi is almost gone. Also large fleet fights have less TiDi than before.
Good work CCP!

But what about the future? Are you guys started working on other server performance projects like the Destiny Dispatcher?

CCP Explorer is there any chance of getting more visibility of the known issues and their numbers. A page with the known issues their status and dates would likely make some players report more (if they cant see it on the page) rather than falling foul of bystanders syndrome. I know "the more reports for the same issue the better", but some players just don't think this way.

I know EVE is old (i'[m nto a tech type but i imagine it can be a pain in the rear dealing with it), but I think it is annoying for many of us (especially the most loyal customers) is how often things get broken.

Crimson Harvest is a perfect example, because of it I had all manner of problems on another character and had to file a support ticket (which was handled expertly btw). No one is expecting things to go perfectly all the time, but to be honest you guys at CCP need to work on these quality control issues. We keep hearing about VR this and VR that, is CCP slipping into the old way of pre-incarna where the game was allowed to slip while CCP focused on some new shiny thing elsewhere?

Snarkily asking us if we've file bug reports (many of us have and do when there is an issue) isn't the most helpful kind of reply. A simple "we know there are some issues and we're working on them, thanks for your help" is a more proper response.

Thanks.

Ok CCP... You know YOU have a problem when I quote and LIKE a Jenn post.

Seriously how long do you expect the players to remain understanding when fixing 3 things brings 5 bugs? And some bugs are considered exploits years later and some bugs are "working as intended" until they aren't?

Also, Market windows, Fitting windows, Agent Finder, Fleet finder, Bookmark Windows, Inventory Windows (including assets) are all monumentally laggier than before. But hey, thanks for the faster gate loads and undocks (when we aren't getting traffic controlled in a fleet of 10)

While this thread centers around various Eve issues from ui to general game play technical challenges and their bug reports. Thank you CCP for developing and working on Eve & Spaceship related things. I could go on about a lot of things i don't like about eve or yourselves as dev's & even ccp in general... But really, the recent work and consequences all be it unfortunate, are appreciated as they're focused on space ships, TQ & Eve :)

Good luck with the bug fixing and related TQ hiccups!

the level of ignorance in this thread is laughable. give the devs some respect and try to understand that there is a lot changing at this time.

expect more issues.. i don't get why the whining. everyone knows the changes are coming, but when they are not perfect out of the box with no issues it's to the forums for a good ole whine and a moan.

the very same kind of people who moan about a road being closed because there was a crash and someone just died.

go play with yourselves while the game is being fixed. the extended downtime for the server switch over is going to be hilarious.

I just built a new pc and have noticed the same lag issues I had on my old one. I was hoping that my performance would improve, not stay the same. For example, when I open the market window it lags for awhile and loads - that wasn't that bad in the past. This happens with many windows in game as well. Also, setting up contracts can take some time and there is a lag when pressing the next buttons etc. that are longer than normal. Also, when I undock the screen goes black for several seconds then I appear with some laggy loading of the images around me.

I was asking others in alliance today and they all reported similar issues. I would put in a few bug reports but right now I can't actually log into the game because the launcher freezes when it pops up and I don't see any work-around anywhere to fix it. If I can get in, I'll submit bug reports.

These are the simple game play things I think some of us are finding frustrating. I'm not sure where the problem lies but it's making for a bad gaming experience and I don't like to spend hours troublshooting to have fun.

On the topic of bug reports, here's some info that might help.

When to report a bug instead of opening a support ticket

Open a support ticket first on this page if your gameplay has been affected in such a way that you need personal assistance. If you need reimbursement, your character is stuck somewhere and unable to move, or you cannot log in and play the game, a support ticket is the only way to get the help you need. Support tickets go to our customer service group, who are the only group with access to your account information or your character in-game.

If you believe that something you experience is a result of a software defect, a bug report is a separate step that you can take that will directly report problems to Eve's development team. Bug reports can get the software defect corrected, but will not usually result in personal assistance.

Our support team will attempt to report software defects they become aware of in their interactions with players, but as a rule, if you think you have encountered a bug, you want personal assistance, and you also want to help get the software defect corrected, I recommend opening BOTH a support ticket AND a bug report.

Reporting a bug from in-game

When you experience an issue in-game, the BEST way to report a bug is to press F12 and click the "Report Bug" button in the Help window that appears. This will open a page that asks you to provide a title, description, and reproduction steps. It will also allow you to take one or more screenshots, which can be very helpful in communicating the problem. Using this page, we'll receive a package of information from your computer including recent client logs, your hardware and software configuration, and the information you provide, plus some details like which character submitted the report and where you were in space at the time.

Describing the bug

Regarding a description, please try to be as complete as possible about the nature of the problem. "My capacitor doesn't show up," for example, is a description that's ambiguous about whether you're talking about a graphic element being missing or all the expected UI elements being present and reading the wrong number. It also doesn't specify whether you're talking about the in-space HUD (though that might be our assumption) or, say, something like the fitting window, or maybe even a capacitor-related module on your ship.

A better description of a hypothetical problem would be something like: "Occasionally, after jumping through a gate, I notice that for a period of three to five seconds, my in-space capacitor readout indicates that I have 0% capacitor. Despite this, I am able to activate modules, and mousing over the readout indicates 100% capacitor on the tooltip." This description indicates what you were doing when the issue occurred, that it's a UI readout indication, that other UI readouts disagree, that the displayed value is obviously incorrect (since you can activate modules) and how long the problem lasts.

Reproduction steps

Reproduction steps can be problematic if you are encountering something intermittent, but please be specific, and, if possible, complete. "Fit and sit in a ship, undock, and fly around for 3-5 hours watching the capacitor display carefully to see your status after each gate jump" might be one way to put it. If it only happens in a certain ship or always happens right before (say) downtime, mention that in your reproduction steps. A person who follows your steps should be as likely as you are to experience the problem, if possible. (And yes, I realize that some things happen intermittently. It can help to be specific in the reproduction steps about how often they happen, so that a tester knows what they're in for and doesn't simply try a gate jump or two and say "cannot reproduce.")

If you cannot get into the game or wish to report a bug out of game

You can report a bug by going to the Bug Reports page.

How to find the bug report number, see status, or see requests for further information for a bug you've already submitted

You can see your bug reports (both open and closed reports) by visiting the My Bug Reports page. Their bug report numbers will be listed here, and if you should speak directly to a developer to ask about a bug, that number will be very helpful in following up.

Also, note that developers may often ask for further information on the record of notes for the bug itself. You will only see these requests by visiting the My Bug Reports page, and if you do not respond in a reasonable time, the bug may be closed, if the original submission was not enough to fully describe the problem.

Finally

All of us on the team recognize that your reporting bugs through this system requires care, effort, and time. We deeply appreciate your contribution whenever you submit a bug, and you should be aware that your submissions go straight to the relevant development team.

All bug reports are first evaluated by a QA analyst or ISD volunteer bug hunter to see if they contain enough information to attempt to reproduce a bug. Then, they'll attempt to reproduce the problem, and also check to see if other reports of the same problem are already in our system.

Many bug reports are either closed because they don't explain in enough detail what the problem is and how to make it occur that they can be reproduced, because they describe problems that are not software defects, or because we already are aware of the problem being reported. However, they're all carefully evaluated, and many result directly in software defects getting fixed.

Regarding support tickets, I am not in our customer service department and can't address what might or might not have happened to yours. However, if you feel a ticket was either not addressed at all or was not addressed to your satisfaction, you can request that it be reviewed by contacting customer support at support@eveonline.com.
