Navy Apoc Fit

For Level 4 missions. I find this to be an excellent tank, but weak on DPS. Cap is not stable at about 3 and half minutes with everything on, which is reasonable to effectively manage by turning the LAR on and off, AB on and off, etc.

I only use the Tech 2 Ammo Scorch and Conflagration. I also switch out the 5 light drones and 5 medium drones depending on the mission. I've also found that the Faction drones (e.g. Navy Acolyte) are very nice.

Thoughts? Any feedback would be most welcome.

HIGH:

Mega Pulse Laser II x8

MED:

100MN Afterburner II
Cap Recharger II x3

LOW:

Large Armor Repairer II
Reactive Armor Hardener
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II x3 (switch out for the Tech 2 Hardeners depending on the mission)
Heat Sink II x2
Tracking Enhancer II

RIGS:

Large Capacitor Control Circuit I x3

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

Swap out two rigs for t2, take out a cap recharger, put in a tracking computer, Swap TE for a heat sink. You may also want to consider faction heat sinks.

Faction drones sound like a good idea, but T2 drones work just as well enough and don't cost as much. Sentries maybe because I'm sure they get better range and tracking, but lights and mediums, you should stick to the T2 ones. They out damage faction ones anyways due to the racial specialization skills effecting the T2 drones, but not the other ones, and the added HP doesn't offer as much survival as you think.

Also, and I'm not very familiar with the Navy Amarr Battleships well enough, have you considered the Geddon Navy Issue? It's been so long since I've flown either one, but if I remember correctly, it has similar tank and slot layout, has a bigger drone bay (full sentries or heavies), and trades a gun for a ROF buff which makes up for having just 7 guns (and a cap use buff to help keep the guns cap fed), though a bit weaker on range because it doesn't have the Apoc's range buff.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

NGeddon does quite a bit more damage, but worse projection and iirc is also slower and less agile. If you have good drone skills, it's definitely worth a look.

As for op's fit: far too many cap and tank mods. Best way to run missions is to maximise dps and application.

So, swap the three cap rechargers for a cap booster and two tc's. Tank should be a repper and at most 3 mission specific hardeners. Then 4 heatsinks. Rigs can be whatever really, warp speed, agility, gun rigs will all help completion times, tank or cap rigs will help survivability. Faction and deadspace modules aren't out of place on a navy ship too.

There are a lot of cap mods on there, and a lot of EANMs.

Scorch offers damage equivalent to T1 Gamma at Microwave ranges; Radio does offer very little extra (a few extra km) but with instant reload and imperishable crystals you might as well, at Gamma range down to Conflag you'll get more out of Gamma and Multifrequency (Gamma providing the same damage for less cap, Multi simply more damage). If your budget and crystal organisation are up to it then Imperial Navy XRay, Gamma and Multi will all offer more damage than Scorch within their own range brackets - they will also offer more Thermal damage which may be valuable to you.

You may also want to consider switching out the TE for a Cap Power Relay - that offers more cap recharge than your midslot rechargers and would allow you to save midslots for Tracking Computers.

Use mega beam lasers with standard, radio and multifrequency.

T2 CCC's, swap AB with MWD, DCU, take off EANM's and replace them with mission specific hardeners, Beams would grant you better alpha.

Nightmares are cheaper than navy apocs... I'd get a nightmare. If the prices were reversed I'd still get a nightmare.
