Eve Launcher not identifying correct DX# (Issue found)

Summary: Eve launcher settings states:

"Your computer only supports DirectX 9"

The selection box is greyed out, however I have verified via dxdiag. That my system is directX 11. Not sure what could cause this of where to start for help?

Reason being is the new wonderful shaders on singularity are not dx9 compatible yet leading me on this hunt to find what the problem is.

you don't give you video card information

DXDiag gives you that information somewhere, and in the video setting in game there is the name of the video card in a box

in the dxdiag.txt please copy after this section
Display Devices

and past it here


directx is always 11 (or 12 for windows 10), the message 'your system does not suport' is not for your installed version but what the graphic drivers can do

oh, btw the new beta launcher is DX11 only, it doesn't check. you can try to check if it works.

Found out what. While the windows is DX11, I have an older gfx card in this computer that I am not updating til I get my new comp. It isn't a DX11 card so will have to wait to see if we get dx9 optimization :-(

I have Launcher Problems too, the launcherwindow is greyout.

I have Windows 10 with latest updates.

provide your hardware information : Directx may be installed but your graphic card incompatible.

if u use the old launcher and directx11 is grayed out then odds are ur gpu dosent support it. just google your card, u can add directx as a keyword too ..

if u are 100% sure it supports dx11 then try running DirectXRedist from the bin folder in eve directory.

it dosent have the version selection support, but it will automatically picks the version ur pc can run.

hitting CRTL+F in game will pop u the Fps monitor and at the bottom u see the dx version your running.

good to know, some ppl want to force DX9 and can't anymore with beta launcher. (why, probably perf issue or misconceptions about stability)

I didn't know what was the behavior for old card, was the game still running, now I can go eat lunch in peace :)
