A minor workload but important missing feature: it would be nice to have visual feedback that the launcher acknowledged my click on the play button, like one of these little circle animations that say "got your input, I'm doing things, just wait a second or two". Feedback is important to avoid uncertainty, and to prevent furious mlticlicking because of "program not doing anything" while it's actually doing stuff.

If you click on the notification it will go away. Also you can resize the launcher to see the play button.
Not very intuitive I know.....

less intuitive : the windows is resizable : make it bigger, the notification will not overlap anything

Finally got the launcher to work past the error message I kept getting...

My only issue now is.....

It would be nice to be able to set different profiles to load up e.g

fleet
account 1 char 1
account 2 char 1
account 3 char 1

mining
account 1 char 2
account 3 char 2
account 2 char 2

etc...
I was hoping to get my fleets load up automatically and with 8 accounts on this machine, would make it so much easier

And yes... I have OCD... everyone has to be loaded in a specific order depending on which fleet I am running!!!

So far I haven't had any problems with this, only thing that I had found to be a minor annoyance is the constant "Copying Files" every time I open it hanging at 0.0% for several minutes.

It's still a WIP so not going to fault it on that one little thing which really doesn't matter. Gives me time to go make a cup of coffee :D

If I leave the launcher open for an extended period of time the authentication token will expire. Closing and reopening the launcher solves the issue, but it would be nice if the launcher would automatically refresh it's token for me when they expire.

First I want to say is that the Launcher already looks and feels much better than the old one.With the feature list on the first page it sounds promising and exciting for future releases, even through I will most likely not use it as it is. Except for updating the client. But that is because I have a pretty nice and unique setup currently.
I will try to explain my current setup and maybe you get inspired and will implement some (most likely not all) of the functionality into the launcher.

A list of the tools I use:

  1. My own launcher (modified "rapid light EVE launcher" ) to automatically login and launch the eve clients with command line parameters to select which account and server should be launched.
  2. (That functionality should be relative easy to implement in the Launcher, and would help me a lot. Maintaining my own Launcher takes time)

  3. A script to handle the window management. (Foreground, Focus, Moving between Monitors).

  4. Keyboard Hotkeys. I have six macro keys on the left side (Sidewinder X4) and each is linked to one eve account.

So when I hit one of those keys the following simplified procedure will be run:

if account has no active client:
    launch client and login automatically;
else:
    if client is in background:
        set focus and move to foreground
    else:
        move client to next monitor


That allows me the quickly start and switch between clients and move them around as I need them.

Not sure how far along development of the new launcher is, so far it is a pretty decent time saver for logging in multiple clients. But that is all it does..

What it is missing, what needs attending to (for me);
It is static, once it loads it does not update, number online, client online / offline status.
It does not automatically update if there is a patch, if I leave the launcher open over down time, it does not update (if there is a patch), you have to close the launcher, reopen it, let it update and then login. (which can really add to the length of DT because you have no idea when the server comes back up as it does not register DT)

The fixed money grab advertisements. That space could be far better utilized, try rollover news and info. Or if someone has the skills, you could put advertising on one side and a news thread on the other (what is now just ignored, wasted space, could provide information and still incorporate your money making advertising)

If your going to stick with the current popup style news, at least, give them some color (helps people to WANT to see it) make them with clickable links. Currently clicking on a news item simply closes the popup - pretty uninteresting and not user friendly.

The core functionality of the new launcher is working, now it just needs to be developed into something other than a "spend your money >HERE<" platform.

Hint for the accountants - Selling a few items at high prices is ok But you'll always get more (and repeat) sales if your prices are even slightly lower.
$22 ($30 AU) for a single carrier skin? (at $10 each, how many more are you likely to sell?)

I am frequently getting times where the launcher complains it cannot copy files and thus launch. Only escalating the launcher process to Administrator fixes it. Only happens some of the times, other times it'll work just fine.

This is probably due to permission issues on the shared cache folder. I'm hoping to have a fix for this that will be deployed in a day or two.

When I hit the "Launch Account" button too early after starting up the launcher, it gives an error about incompatible builds, but when the launcher finishes its version check and says "Ready" at the bottom, the "Launch Account" button is no longer visible.

To get around this, I have to close and reopen the launcher and just wait until it says ready. It would be really nice if the Launch button would re-appear after an error.

Ive had this issue too. I found if I clicked where the button should be, the client launches.

After a bit of testing i want to point out that it would be nice if you could move the Launcher on your desktop. right behind the Launcher is the rest of my EVE Stuff and i must close the launcher to get to it.

And i cant connect to SiSi. i hit play and after some seconds it gives me an error that the logging failed.

Also got an Errorcode for you which popped up randomly: AB6EF25E-C57C-45C5-806A-29F9ACE23763

Not sure what you have done to the launcher recently, but I am finding that it hangs when I press the arrow button on an account. It says it is ready at the bottom but the arrow disappears on the account line and nothing happens, the login screen does not appear no matter how long I wait. When I try to press any further buttons, the "Not responding" dialogue pops up from Windows. After many restarts of the launcher it will finally work. This is a recent development as previous to the latest Eve update the launcher has worked flawlessly every time it was launched. Now it is working 1/ 5-8 attempts.


More information, it seems that sometimes I can open 1 account but then the launcher displays the disappearing arrow with now login screen opening then the launcher hangs. Even if I press bug report or any thing else the Windows dialogue pops up.

I use the new Launcher with Linux.

It is a BIG improvement. It is 2-3 times faster and did not fail one time so far. The old launcher fails in 2 of 3 attempts and takes 2 minutes to load up.

Not sure if I understand. I can move the launcher anywhere I want on both of my monitors. And it opens up at that location next time.

did you know that even there is no "title" bar, you can clic a the top of the windows and move it? (a few pixel below the edge)
