very slow download of patches

Hi,

i have two accounts and currently the issue, that i am only able to launch the game via launcher once. The second instance ends in a black screen while the "resource loading" icon keeps on spinning. It is teasing me^^.

After some lecture on the forums i deleted the shared resources with the "rescache.exe purge" command. But this made it worse. Now my client is stuck at downloading a patch (only 110mb) with 5kb/s.

Is it just me, that is experiencing this kind of slowness?

Regards,

Binary Gamura (currently at 5% download progress)

The launcher finally downloaded the patch and applied it successfully... but now even the first instance of EvE gets stuck into the infamous black screen while the resource loading animation is running.

Now i have deinstalled EvE completely and i am downloading the installer right now... with 65kb/s.

Same Issues here.

I couldn't log in a second character if one client was already running. I tried clearing all kinds of caches, logfiles, using the rescache.exe with and without "purge", problem wasn't solved.

So I deleted the resource cache and planned to redownload it, but now I'm stuck with the launcher downloading like 1 MB per 5 minutes, which is ridiculously slow, so I cannot play EVE at all.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. The launcher is slow to and ultimately fails to load all of its content, downloading the current repair tool wasn't possible either.
Long story short, a ping to eveonline.com resulted in 50% packet loss. Maybe someone dropped an anchor on an internet cable again.

Hello,

I do experience the same issues here, I want to download the Launcher to start downloading the entire client but the speed is absolutely not there 56 bytes per second with a 10MB/s Downstream. But this is not the only problem, also the website is loading slow as hell.

Please fix that Issue a.s.a.p. its not a very nice that this issue is persistent since days and yes a weekend is NO excuse for it, such a problem should be tracked down and fixed.

Best Regards

Update: Seems fixed now, at least to me.

Edit: TIL that Eve uses Amazon's content delivery network.

Yes, seems to be fixed now. Resource cache is redownloading at normal speed.

Same here. If i want to log in more than one account (no matter which), the new opened client downloads resources until the character selection screen shows up. This download is very slow atm, but i guess there shouldn't be one anyway.

I can confirm that there are still problems. However, sometimes it's working fine, and sometimes it doesn't. This really looks like some non-clientsided connectivity issues.

have the same problem, slow patch, cant connect, trying to download beta launcher is also really slow. starting the repair tool gives me following error: requests.exceptions.SSLError: [Errno 1] _ssl.c:504: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

No sleeper money for me today :(

ok... this beginning to look like a local issue : this error comes from some API that can't validate the certificate from the server, and I'm pretty sure you are the only one in the world today to have this issue. yes, you are *that* special ;) (well at least there is no massive complaint on general so I don't know more)

there were issues (network/storage or something on general) 1 or 2 days ago, but not now.

do you have a "stable" internet connection try a command line " pathping 87.237.38.200 " (ip of eve server), this will test a few minutes some pings on the different route node from you to ccp

look for losses (0% loss = OK, 100% loss = OK too, some router don't ping) you'll look for high latency (over 150ms) or loss % between 1 and 99%

the higher in the list, the nearest from you it is, also : do you use wifi?

today the patch is not really downloading at all, slower than any tool could display in a meaningful way...

the other clients launcher is not even loading the backgroud image of the launcher properly....

i am not looking forward to waiting 30 minutes for the character selection screen today...

ping is fine, internet is fine, tv over internet is fine, youtube is fine, voip is fine, everything is fine related to the internet connection... wait, i am working in this network, platform operation business... my internet is fine, trust me...

i think i will file a support ticket.. mayyyybbbeeee ccp doesnt know that their content delivery sucks lately. lol...

this last pathping show a problem still in London / Telia ; 1 % is not common at all, 1 packet loss means 1 "socket closed" (1 in 25 seconds)

(meaning the Telia link between the internet backbone and the datacenter where is and no one can change these routes except your local ISP)

if all the players having problem with the datacenter were ccp rent space goes through Telia, maybe ccp could hit on their ISP and ask them to shunt Telia
(i'm waaaay over analyzing this, I 'm not ccp, I don't have any news on Londonian internet issues )

but one thing is for sure : I could download some patch at 10Mbps which is my DSL max download speed and I only had some disconnect during the network shitstorm the other day
and the hundreds of player on the help channel talking about random non eve stuff let me assume there is no global incident

oh, I'm a bit bored so that's why I'm answering here, maybe entertaining a false notion that a player based help forum will help anyone in your situation. i would help you for real if I could, I like helping people, but :
The only help you'll get will be by opening tickets, and maybe the pathping may help them. in the ticket text
