Remotely Manage Lab Jobs

I trained Scientific Networking thinking that I would be able to manage my lab jobs like copying and invention remotely. I just realized that Scientific Networking only applies to remotely management research jobs. Is this correct? If so, what skill do I train to remotely manage lab jobs? I can't seem to find it. Thanks!

Yes, it applies to research jobs, which include Material Efficiency research, Production Efficiency research, Copying, invention and Reverse Engineering. Only remote manufacturing requires a separate skill: Supply Chain Management.

All it allows is for you (the pilot) to be someplace else. All blueprints and materials must be in their appropriate places. This means the blueprints have to be in your hangar if running a personal job at the station, or in a corporation hangar if installing a corp job at the station or a corporate POS in that system. All necessary materials must be in a hangar for the facility being run. That means your hangar if installing a personal job at the station, a corporation hangar if installing as a corp job in the station, or in the POS lab/array if running as a corp job on the POS.

What seems to be the problem leading you to thinking you don't have the right skill?

POS/Labs must be in same system as corp office with the blueprint in corp hangar (If the job requires material, the material must be in the lab). You can be anywhere as long as you're within the the limits of your skill. Research, Copying, Invention and Reverse Engineering is covered by Scienfic Networking skill

The same goes for manufacturing, only its coverd by Supply Chain Management skill.

Yes. It's working as expected. I made the mistake of thinking that L1 Scientific Networking allows for remote management from 1 jump away. L1 allows for within system only. Thanks!

Well, anywhere within the same region.

Big thanks to Hazrad and Ruziel for taking the time to explain; specific, detailed information is always appreciated.

Here's the part that confoozles me. I have Scientific Networking trained to level 3, which should (according to the text description of the skill) allow me to start research jobs up to 10 jumps away, within the same region.

But when I open the Science & Industry screen, and select either the Blueprints or Corp Blueprints tab, at the bottom where it lists my ranges, it says -

Remote Research limited to -1 jump

Is this just a bug, or am I mis-interpreting the message, or what?

If it helps in framing your reply, I have been playing Eve on and off (mostly off) since 2006, and I do have previous experience with POS research, invention, manufacturing, etc. But that experience was all 2 years or more in the past.

I do not currently have a POS to experiment with, unfortunately. I'm waiting until after the fuel change goes into effect (next week?) before putting one up.
