Hi folks!

I am pleased to announce that we have deployed the most recent version of Cider from nVidia (nee Transgaming) to Singularity.

We have re-enabled high shader settings on AMD hardware and have fully unlocked Anti Aliasing options once again.

In addition, we have fixes for the following issues:

  • Decals that use normal maps no longer float around your ship.
  • Cloaked ships under Medium Shader settings are "visible" again.
  • Static Station environments render correctly.
  • Windowed mode under El Capitan no longer displaces the client provided the appropriate resolution is applied.
  • Typing quickly in an EVE Mail no longer triggers non-modifier-keyed shortcuts.
  • Users of the new launcher no longer need to use clonemaker to create stable multi-boxing clients, works out of the box!

Known issues:
The in-game browser will still freeze the client when exited - This has been identified as an issue with the browser in-general, however the issue manifests itself differently on the Windows client.

For those interested in trying out the new launcher, check this thread

As always, I´m really looking forwards to your feedback, guys, so drop it in this thread!

Peace out - Sledge.

Thanks Sledge!

Just hopped on and found the cloak effect doesn't happen at all (at least on high shader settings). While cloaked the ship is still visible as if it isn't on (but it is). Bug report EBR-56704.

Also the browser would open, but wouldn't connect to any webpage at all. Just stayed a black screen. I didn't get a bug report for it since I tried to close it and well.. So I'll get one latter when I get home for work.

Welp, that´s new. The cloak effect was working earlier...

Cheers, Mansell, going to dig around that issue.

Cannot log in. I am using the beta launcher. The box containing my name and password turns black (when I press login) and nothing further happens.

It does not lock up the launcher, I can swap it back to TQ, then back to Sisi and try again (same result). But it will not launch the client. Also, there is no network activity to speak of, so its not trying to download anything, and the launcher CPU use is very low, so its not busy doing something.

OS 10.9.5, 17" MacBook Pro.

Bug report EBR-56712 submitted.

Edit: Yes, I can log into TQ. Also: I got on Sisi for the mass test yesterday.

Only issue I have noticed so far - after fixing my computers stupidity this morning, is that after a gate jump, they screen stays locked in it's location.

I have the new camera turned on - and only after using "tab" to change camera angels does it allow me to move my camera angel.

Edit: I was attempting to make videos of my test in Sisi, but I currently don't have the best internet (will try again)

To be more clear on the issues I have encountered

1: Biggest issue has been the orbital camera - upon undock, gate jump and a few other instances, it will not allow rotation of the camera, but changing into tactical view works and sometimes unlocks the orbital view once you switch back into that mode.
2: with all settings at highest, walking in station crashes the client when going from hanger view to Captians Quarters.
3: unable to test market/industrial window lag, do to the lack of market data/industrial jobs on sisi. But there is still a timely delay in the market window 10-30 seconds (my understanding this effects Window clients as well. So it seems to be more of a database call issue than a client issue.
-- as I have spoken with a good number of people on the topic of the window lag, it would say it stems from the fact that CCP has opened up so much more access for us.
---industry used to be limited region
---number sheets are showing that there are now more active players doing stuff than before, which probably means more stuff is being placed in the market, and thus creating a larger data base of entries for the system to call.
----I remember seeing something posted by one of the dev teams, that they are looking into a updated back end (cleaning up the old one) so that the load would be faster.

Can we get a list of what the built was suppose to fix.
There is so much in EVE to test - a list would be nice to help start the focal points

edit: beyond what is listed!

CCP Sledgehammer - question? is the Nvidia Cider team, the same group as before? or are there a lot of new developers, and how easy is it to work with them?

Hooray for all of this! Can't wait to see if my machine can run high shader settings without melting:

15-inch MacBook Pro, Mid-2015
2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
16 GB of 1600MHz DDR3L
AMD Radeon R9 M370X, 2GB of GDDR5

But even if it can't, I'm thrilled to be able to see my ship while cloaked again!

Are the new damage effects planned for DX9 / Mac by Dec 8th, or it will be after that? Or possibly never?

Clearing your client side cache files should resolve that issue.

just a dumb question. that bug is so prevalent, why don't you put a "clean relevant cache files" thingy in a small patch?

Haven't had a chance to get in of late - has the optimal camera upon undock/gate jump lock up been fixed?
Plus like the other times that camera angle locked up in warp etc.

I was over in the FX thread and CCP reported that they hope to have them working for Mac by the time of release. Something to do with Direct X 9.

So question for CCP Sledgehammer, if he can provide any feedback, what is road map for having the Cider client support DX11. Is it something we might see next year or two years or???

I tried to do some google searching for it - Crossover/Codeweavers babbled something at E3 I think it was, about how they had plans to supposed updated DX soon(tm)

I can't say anything explicitly, sorry. What I will say is that DX11 work on Wine has been looking quite promising ;)

Thank you! I will settle for that little piece of candy!
So hopefully before the middle east erupts into total war, the Russians invaded (blow the frack out of) Turkey, and the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ - the Mac client will have DX 11

This isn't a Cider issue or idea - but CCP Sledgehammer or Snorlax or whom ever.
Which team handles PI as I need to find out who to "bribe"... I mean supply with yummy food stuff for it to see some love???
