Increased grid size
The size of the grid (which is essentially the area directly visible and interactable around your ship) is going to increase considerably from currently usually 250 km to a much larger size (potentially thousands of km). This means that there will be more objects visible on the new grids and that safe spots might no longer be safe. This is quite a fundamental change and as such we expect some issues to pop up on the test server before they can be fixed - your help reporting those issues is much appreciated! The lock range is going to stay, for the time being, to be hard capped at 250 km. The increase in the grid size is part of our preparation for the EVE Online: Citadels expansion with their truly massive new Citadel structures. Note that this is only about the grid size, not about grid loading mechanics, lock range, look at range etc.

Continued improvements to the new scanning interface
CCP Goliath and his team continue collecting feedback and ideas for improvements of the new scanning interface. CCP Goliath also continues to answer questions about the design and paradigm behind the new scanning interface and if it is feasable to maintain two systems doing the same indefinitely (hint: it is not) . Also, to report bugs please use the in-game bug reporting tool via the F12 menu! Also note that you can customize what appears in the solar system map.

Keyboard shortcut for scanning/analyzing
With the introduction of the new Scan Interface, you can set keyboard shortcuts for scanning / analyzing. Simply open the Settings menu in game by pressing ESC, go to Shortcuts > Combat > Refresh Directional Scan (or Refresh Probe Scan) and set an according keyboard shortcut.


Issues and Fixes
Changes to Burner Missions?
Burner Missions should stay unchanged after the deployment of Parallax. However, there are reports that especially the Burner NPC teams are behaving in a different way. CCP Lebowski is investigating! If you have further details, please post them in the linked thread. Thank you!


Testing and test server
New mirror on Singularity
Singularity has been updated with a new (account database) mirror. This means that for example currently active accounts on Tranquility are usually able to access the Singularity test server. Please note the additional commands available on the test server including the /copyskills and /copyships command.

Any attempt, and especially the execution of faking Single Sign-On (SSO) is strictly forbidden and will result in bans. If you see any misleading, bogus or questionable usage of our SSO, please immediately send a mail to security@ccpgames.com.

CCP and player suggestions/ideas?
We have a dedicated section on the EVE Forums for posting ideas and feature suggestions. Naturally the question arises if CCP is actually reading this ideas. Yes, that is the case! Constantly. However, as CCP Darwin explains, it should be avoided to make lots of promises in a very early stage, especially if there is a lot of work to be done first. But yes, ideas and constructive suggestions are most welcome. The history of EVE development is full of examples of player induced features.

Fanfest - What is it about?

Fanfest is an exciting multi-day event for everyone to learn more about the EVE Universe, its products, game design, development, plans for hte future - and of course to discuss details, provide feedback and to talk with the developers.
