If I had about 30mil skill points before should I just buy a character or start from scratch?I noticed they had taken the learning skills out so it might go faster but I'm still not sure If I should start from scratch or just get out there with a bought character. There are alot more players now, when back in the day when 8k was peek. Where is the common eve player now? Pretty much everyone is flying tech 2? Are battleships still the most common and tech 2 is for the pvp guys?

Everyone flies at least as BC standard for PVP with BSes for large 0.0 fleets. The favorite is no longer apoc but now 1400mm maelstroms. The favorite BCs being drake and hurricane. There still of course gang of T2 still though. HICs are invaluable to a 0.0 fleet...

I'd advise to make a new character to relearn things but jump back to your 30mill SP char so you have something to work with that doesn't cost you money like buying a character would.

SP isn't that important and 30 mil is actually quite a decent amount, so there's no reason to sell it and buy a higher SP char. Also, restarting isn't that much of an issue (I'm a restart as well).

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Im my personal opinion, I would keep the 30 mil SP character (due to the amount of time taken to get there). Although I do feel (as others have mentioned), this would be a great time to create a new character, only if its to relearn the basics of the game. This then may help you decide whether you want to move forward with your 30sp char or not.

Oh, and welcome back to EVE Big smile
